‘Jackass’ Star Ryan Dunn Dead At 34

Tragic news: "Jackass" star Ryan Dunn and an unidentified passenger were killed in a fiery car crash in the Philly suburbs this morning. Police said Dunn's 2007 Porsche 911 GT3 was "off the road and in the woods," engulfed in flames after apparently careening over a guardrail. The 34-year-old daredevil may have been speeding, reports the Associated Press.

A jaw-dropping photo of the wreckage was posted on Twitter -- then deleted. Someone swiftly uploaded the image on Flickr. Another sad reminder of the fleetingness of life: just hours before his death, Dunn tweeted a photo of himself and some friends drinking and hanging out, without a care in the world.

Dunn, a long-time member of Johnny Knoxville's merry band of prankster-stuntmen, made appearances on MTV's "Jackass" and "Viva La Bam," and also had his own MTV series "Homewrecker." He met "Jackass" castmate Bam Margera in high school, and had been working as a welder and at a gas station when his extreme skateboarding-and-stunt videos with Margera caught the eye of ringmaster Knoxville, who asked to put them on the show. The rest, as they say, is history.
