Hollywood Scenes Recast With Toddlers

Behold this snapshot from Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi's 2008 wedding: they look so happy! As do their toddler counterparts.

Tricia Messeroux, a photographer based in Long Island, N.Y., is making a splash with her photo project, "Toddlewood," wherein she casts kids ages 3 through 6 to recreate classic Hollywood moments, a la DeGeneres' marriage to longtime life-partner De Rossi. Other memorable scenes: mini-Tom Cruise jumping on Mini-Oprah's couch; mini-Audrey Hepburn in "Breakfast at Tiffany's; mini-Madonna from the "Like A Virgin" album, and mini-Barack Obama from the presidential Inauguration.

"I make sure that every one of the images I shoot are always rated G -- I never go risque," Messeroux told the Daily Mail. "I never put kids in a position I wouldn't want my daughter in. ... They're playing dress up -- they have a lot of fun."

Messeroux, who's also an advertising exec, started Toddlewood in 2008; her gallery of celebrity-channeling children has grown to 50 images (and counting). Her wee subjects are paid for their participation and -- according to the project's website -- "carefully selected, styled, dressed and positioned to re-create a highly recognized celebrity or historical event."

The tiny doppelganger photos have spawned two calendars and coffee table book, with full proceeds going to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
