The Famous: Watching the Watched
  • A totally natural poolside pose. - Denise Truscello/WireImageHeidi Montag has been out of the public eye for a bit, but she came back with a vengeance this weekend, hosting a pool party at Las Vegas' Wet Republic where she hung out with Crystal Harris (a.k.a The Playboy Runaway Bride).

Montag told Us Weekly that in order to get back into bikini shape, she began an intensive workout regimen.

"I've been working out from, like, 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. for two months now. I've been working out really hard because I had this pool party and I was like, I have to be in shape," she told the magazine. "And I was actually a lot overweight. It was the most I've ever been because I've kind of been in hiding eating pie with my husband and puppies, so I needed to get back in shape."

Now at first we were inclined to guffaw at this claim -- 14 hours a day?! -- but then we realized that it's not like Montag has anything else to do, right?

  • Lady Gaga and Luc Carl are Back Together

"They had a little fight." - Getty ImagesLady Gaga's love life has always taken a back seat to her other antics -- the music, the costumes, the videos -- and she makes a point of refusing to discuss it, recently telling Us Weekly that "sometimes [she] skirts questions" about her personal life.

So items about her love life always seem a little discordant with the larger-than-life Gaga we have come to know.

    Yet, here's the latest:

The pop star is reportedly back together with Lu Carl, the bartender and musician whom she has dated on and off for years now.

The pair was thought to have broken up recently (Gaga told Graham Norton last month that she was single) but a source tells the magazine that "they are totally back together now."

"They had a little fight," the source said. "I think the breakup lasted a week or two."

If nothing else, this should give Gaga more fodder for songs like "You and I," her ballad about reconnecting with Carl.

  • There is an alarming absence of Hello Kitty paraphernalia. - Elizabeth ArdenHere is the new ad for Mariah Carey's new trio of fragrances, Lollipop Splash the Remix. Our first reaction when first viewing the image on People.com was to laugh (Mimi is unintentionally hilarious!), then to cringe (why must Mimi, who is 42 years old, continually present herself as an aging tween with a butterfly fetish?!).

    Sigh.

We snicker but it's worth noting that the new mother of twins and collector of all things Hello Kitty has a successful perfume line. Her latest scents -- a trilogy inspired by Carey's playful personality -- are Never Forget You ("gourmet jelly beans and golden peony"), Vision of Love ("French macaroon and purple jasmine") and Inseparable ("raspberry, mango, jasmine and orange flowers").

Carey's ads are authentic to her sexy-and-sweet personal brand, but given her string of bizarre behavior (the latest: flaunting her naked baby bump on the cover of Life & Style, then painting a butterfly on it), the image of the Grammy-winning diva licking a lollipop, all

  • It is thought that Murphy created Lea Michele in a secret lab beneath Broadway, using a single stolen strand of Barbra Streisand's hair. - Mathew Imaging/WireImage"Glee" creator Ryan Murphy is getting married to his long-time partner. He announced the news Friday on Ryan Seacrest's radio show, revealing: "I'm with a great fellow now who I've known for 15 years. We just got engaged and I'm very excited about it!"

Murphy, who did not mention his soon-to-be husband by name, also said that he plans to graduate the cast of his hit Fox series, replacing key members with new talent as characters outgrow William McKinley High.

"The thing that I wanted to do and the cast wanted to do, we didn't want to have a show where they were in high school for eight years," he notes. "We really wanted it to be true to that experience. We thought it would be really cool if we were true to the timeline."

So, basically, "Glee" could continue on for many, many seasons, thanks to an ever-revolving roster of singing students. Some people will not be happy about this.

  • Bar Refaeli Breaks Her Arm

"I'm annoyed!" - Dominique Charriau/WireImageBar Refaeli is having a rough time of it as of late.

First, she has to watch as her ex-boyfriend gallivants around Europe with Blake Lively, and now she has broken her arm.

Refaeli tweeted about the injury this afternoon, writing, "I broke my arm. And I'm annoyed! Booooooo."

It is unclear how she broke her arm, but we're going to imagine it happened when she manically tried to haul a sack filled with copies of this Us Weekly to the garbage dump.

  • Garcelle Beauvais and Sean Penn May Be Dating

At last night's Women In Film Crystal + Lucy Awards. - Jason Merritt/Getty ImagesWhenever two actors who are both single get dinner, rumors invariably fly that they're dating, whether or not there's any truth to it. So when Sean Penn and Garcelle Beauvais shared a meal Tuesday night at the Terrace Room at the Sunset Tower in Los Angeles, there was immediately an E! News report that the two might be romantically involved.

And Beauvais certainly doesn't seem to be minding the speculation. Last night, the 44-year-old actress played coy when asked by Us Weekly about her dinner with Penn. She said "No comment" twice when asked by the magazine about their relationship, though Us notes she was "smiling widely" and "beaming" when responding.

Beauvais filed for divorce from her husband Mike Nilon last June, which received some attention because she sent out an e-mail to all of his co-workers at CAA after their split accusing him of having cheated on her. The two have three-year-old twins, Jax and Joseph.

Penn, of course, divorced Robin Wright in 2010 and most recently dated

  • Weiner resigns. - Mario Tama/Getty ImagesIt was a predictable arc in the narrative of the Disgraced Politician: New York congressman Anthony Weiner officially resigned on Thursday afternoon because of the sexting scandal that he made him a national punchline. [Insert your own "weiner" joke here.] It all began when he accidentally posted a racy photo of himself on his Twitter feed, rather than sending it to his target -- a college student -- via the site's private "direct message" channel; Weiner initially lied about the incident, saying his account got hacked, but then later came clean as more photographic evidence surfaced of his sextual relations with other women. Meanwhile, his wife Huma Abedin -- who just so happens to be an aid to Hillary Clinton, who knows a thing or two about cheatin' husbands -- is reportedly pregnant with the couple's first child.

Embarrassing! But not the end of the world, right? Indeed, there's a light at the end of the tunnel for The Weiner, a career politician with apparently no other skills, if

  • Still together. - Jason LaVeris/FilmMagicDo not buy into reports that the world's most favorite celebrity couple, Jesse James and Kat Von D, have called off the wedding.

False alarms for a James-Von D breakup began when Life & Style quoted a source as saying the pair had ended their engagement. "That's what he's telling pals. He says there's too much drama for him," said the insider.

The magazine cited supporting evidence in the form of cryptic tweets from James and Von D that appeared to signal that the honeymoon was over. Sample cryptic tweet, via James: "I guess I was trying to take too much from the world. Funny how things go from amazing to s--t in the blink of an eye."

After the Life & Style story came out, an angry James took to the internets -- his favorite medium for bitter musings! -- and fired back. "I like that all the piece of S--t tabloids are now following me on Twitter," he fumed. "I'm pretty sure it's just so I can tell them to Lick My B--s."

And then he ran to People magazine, where celebrities regularly go

  • We will say this for Ryan Reynolds: it's very hard not to like him.

Check out this video of Reynolds and "Green Lantern" co-star Blake Lively appearing "The Yes/No Show" with MTV's Josh Horowitz. • A "Friday"-less nation mourns. If you're like us, you sat down at your computer this morning and instinctively searched for Rebecca Black's "Friday" on YouTube, your body trained at this point to do so on this day of the week.

But, as we were, you were no doubt rudely jolted to find the music video was no longer on the site.

    So what's the deal?

TMZ reports that Black's team ordered YouTube to take down the video after Ark Music, the company that produced and wrote the song, tried to make "Friday" a $2.99 YouTube video rental earlier this week.

A rep for Black said, "We can confirm that we submitted a Take Down Notice to YouTube as a result of the dispute we have with Ark Music regarding the 'Friday' video."

Team Black is threatening legal action against Ark, claiming they are wrongfully exploiting the 13-year-old's image, and the innocent masses are left with no music video.

While this is truly the opposite of "fun, fun, fun," we recommend Katy Perry's enjoyable video for "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)" to satiate
