The Famous: Watching the Watched
  • It's a day after news of the fall's biggest celebrity split -- that of Blake Lively and Leonardo DiCaprio, of course. Are you still on the floor in a puddle of tears or have you straightened yourself out by now and regained consciousness?

Anyway, for those of you who answered the latter, there is more talk today about what may have led to the break-up of the "Gossip Girl" star and the "Titantic" actor.

Us Weekly says, perhaps somewhat surprisingly, that the split was the 24-year-old Lively's doing.

"Blake wasn't ready to move to the next level," an "insider" told the magazine. "It was just too much, too quickly. Blake wasn't ready to settle down."

The pair, who had been dating since May, travelled the globe -- Disneyland, Italy, Australia, and so on -- during their courtship.

DiCaprio, 36, who previously dated supermodels Gisele Bundchen and Bar Refaeli, is said to be looking for something more serious.

Quoth the Us Weekly sources: "He's looking for someone to eventually start a family

  • This is How The Olsen Twins Do Halloween

StyleMintThe Olsens generally look dour and peeved when photographed, so it's a nice change of pace to see a shot of the twins having some fun... well, The Olsen Twin version of fun.

Check out this picture of the Olsens dressed up as Batman and Catwoman. Unexpectedly amusing, right? Of course, they still have their trademark pouts, but they come off as sort of adorable in the context of the costumes, no?

  • "I still do get terribly nervous." - Getty ImagesAmanda Seyfried -- who has seen her fame increase exponentially with each prominent role or famous boyfriend over the past few years -- turned to therapy to help deal with the stresses of the business.

Seyfried told the British edition of Glamour that she suffers from regular panic attacks, and sees a therapist to help cope with them.

"[Therapy] has been such a great tool, and my therapist told me that I passed with flying colors, but we'll see how things go," she said. "I still do get terribly nervous, and that's partly due to the fact I think too much and overanalyze things. I'll start worrying about my parents or my dog, and I'll picture him opening the window of my apartment and falling out, even though I can't get that thing open myself."

She also talked about what it was like to date Ryan Phillippe, who was more famous than her ex Dominic Cooper.

"Dominic and I were together for such a long time, so the coverage was always positive. But when you've just started seeing someone

  • "I am truly sorry for offending anyone in any way." - Getty ImagesYesterday Johnny Depp made headlines for his eyebrow-raising comments -- from his Vanity Fair cover story -- that posing for photo shoots was analogous to being raped.

"Well, you just feel like you're being raped somehow. Raped... It feels like a kind of weird -- just weird," Depp said. "But whenever you have a photo shoot or something like that, it's like - you just feel dumb."

Well, one day later, Depp has already issued an apology for the comment.

"I am truly sorry for offending anyone in any way. I never meant to. It was a poor choice of words on my part in an effort to explain a feeling," Depp said. "I understand there is no comparison and I am very regretful. In an effort to correct my lack of judgment, please accept my heartfelt apology."

The Rape, Abuse and Incest National Network (RAINN) -- which had expressed its displeasure with Depp's comparison Tuesday -- has said it accepts Depp's apology.

"We hope to work with him to provide hope to victims of rape and make sure they

  • Poor Demi. - Star MagazineLast week, Star magazine broke news about yet another alleged Ashton Kutcher cheating scandal. This one involves the actor hooking up with a 23-year-old blonde at a San Diego Hard Rock Hotel .... on the night of his 6th wedding anniversary. Leave it to the scrappy supermarket tabloid to gather the sordid photo evidence. In its latest issue, Star publishes photos of Kutcher -- and women who aren't Demi Moore -- partying late into the night on Sept. 24. One of the non-Demis, Sara Leal (the 23-year-old), is shown smoking pot and sporting come-hither bedroom eyes. Leal was "always a party girl on the hunt for a rich man to pay her bills," a source tells the magazine. "She kind of throws herself at people."

Meanwhile, rival magazine Us Weekly more or less matches Star's intial report on its new cover. The Us headline blares: "CAUGHT CHEATING." Kutcher reportedly hooked up with Leal and her friend during a steamy hot tub encounter at his $2,500-a-night hotel suite.

    Lesson to famous people:

  • In June 2010. - Jordan Strauss/WireImageMore Kristen Stewart! (We told you to expect an onslaught!)

British GQ got Stewart to kind of admit (for the first time!) that she is dating Robert Patinson. (Yes, we all have known for ages that the "Twilight" co-stars are dating in real life, but they've never admitted it.)

There was some deception involved, however...

At the photoshoot for the November issue, Stewart said she hopes to explore more of the U.K. while filming "Snow White and The Huntsman" "because my boyfriend is English."

    Ahhhhh!!!!!!!!!!

But, the next day, when the writer of the piece asked her about this admission, she clammed up.

"I never would have said that if I knew you were interviewing me," she said. "So much of my life is so easily Googled. I mean, it's like, 'Come on guys, it's so obvious!'"

How had Stewart not realized the day before? Had the reporter been pretending to be a makeup artist or something?

In any event, this is probably as close to a full-fledged admission as we're going to get from the

  • This photo will haunt your dreams. - Noel Vasquez/Getty ImagesNaturally, Nancy Grace is taking issue with Monday's not guilty verdict in the drawn-out and dramatic Amanda Knox case.

"I think that it was a miscarriage of justice," Grace told People.com on the set of "Dancing With the Stars." "I only hope that Ms. Knox makes something of her life now because she's certainly been given a second chance. Very few people are given the chance that she has been given today."

Blah blah miscarriage of justice blah blah. Read this.

  • Bye bye... - Ray Mickshaw/WireImage...Blake. - Steve Granitz/WireImageLeonardo DiCaprio and Blake Lively have amicably parted ways after five months of dating, a source with knowledge of the split tells The Famous.

The relationship apparently fizzled out following Lively's late August trip to see DiCaprio in Sydney, Australia, where he was filming Baz Luhrmann's big-screen adaptation of "The Great Gatsby." It began in May with a whirlwind European courtship as DiCaprio -- freshly split from model Bar Rafaeli -- wined and dined and swept Lively off her Louboutins. (We were initially suspicious of the hookup. But then we heard DiCaprio gave Lively's dad an "elaborate coloring book" for his birthday and we were sold.)

Us Weekly first reported the news, citing confirmation from their reps that the pair had broken up but "remain friends."

Lively, meanwhile, seems to be moving along quite nicely with ... Ryan Reynolds? Word is, via The Inside Track, that the "Gossip Girl" beauty spent this past weekend in Boston with her former "Green Lantern" co-star.

  • Harper's Bazaar U.K.Kate Winslet is speaking out for the first time about her divorce from director Sam Mendes, though -- as one might expect -- she did so in an extremely evasive way.

"One thing I will say about me and Sam is that it's fine, it's really fine," she told the U.K. edition of Harper's Bazaar. "I'm not going to s---fling, there's no point in even going there. It is what it is."

"It's fine" isn't exactly the kind of line magazines splash on their covers, but it's very Winslet-y and it seems honest, if cautious.

Winslet said that the timing of the real-life split coincided with the divorce-related scenes she needed to shoot for "Mildred Pierce."

"There's a scene where Mildred and Bert are divorced and they sit down together, because they've got to settle on a cause," Winslet said. "The first stage of my divorce with Sam came through on the very day that we were shooting. So that scene is nothing to do with acting."

The mature way in which the pair have dealt with the split is partly due to
