The Famous: Watching the Watched
  • The main man in her life is baby Louis. - Jason Merritt/Getty ImagesSo much for Sandy and RyRy. We had high hopes for "The Proposal" pair, but Sandra Bullock says she's single and not ready to mingle with Ryan Reynolds. Boo.

"I think there will be a collective sigh amongst women across the United States when I say he's not my lovah," Bullock told the "Today" show on the Golden Globes red carpet. "He's just an amazing friend for 10 years ... but I don't get his loving after dark."

But what about that "hot" New Year's Eve in Austin? The subsequent ski trip to Jackson Hole? Can men and women who look like RyRy and Sandy really be friends?

That's too bad (we just want Sandy to be happy .... or live vicariously through her, whatever!) because Reynolds is one-half of the duo formerly known as Earth's Sexiest Couple. Now that the actor is divorcing Scarlett Johansson (the other half), he's back on the market ... hear that, Sandra? We thought you did.

  • Which lucky lady was Jake's date? - Frazer Harrison/Getty ImagesLike a head-scratching episode of "Lost," the Golden Globe Awards raised more questions than answers. We did some digging, and solved the biggest mysteries from Sunday's event:

Q: Who was Jake Gyllenhaal's date?

A: Not Taylor Swift. The "Love and Other Drugs" star -- who reportedly dumped Swift over the phone after a whirlwind romance -- rebounded on the red carpet with another musically-inclined lady: Rilo Kiley singer Jenny Lewis, whom he dated in 2001. (Watch her sing here). Lucky girl. Meanwhile, Swift must be a sad girl right now. We imagine the country cutie pictured herself on Gyllenhaal's arm at the Globes, mingling with Emma Stone and the rest of Young Hollywood during commercial intermission. Le sigh.

Q:Why was Christian Bale's hair long?

A: The talented, typically morose actor was in a really good mood the whole night with a rare, dopey grin plastered across his face, as if he'd made a concerted effort to show the world "I am a decent guy, really." His hair was another

  • She knows how to make an entrance. - Frazer Harrison/Getty ImagesA weird, witchy lady crashed the Golden Globes red carpet on Sunday, wearing mismatched shoes and a wild mess of curls atop her head.

Leave it to Helena Bonham Carter to make a sartorial statement.

The eccentric British actress -- known for her whimsical, theatrical wardrobe -- outdid herself at this year's Globes, sporting a kooky Vivienne Westwood dress, one red shoe and one green shoe. As you can see, the frock is a headache-inducing explosion of black lace and clashing prints. Bonham Carter -- who's up for a best supporting actress Globe for her role in "The King's Speech" -- wore a black lace headpiece and black sunglasses to top off the look; she eventually removed the shades during her trip down the carpet, perhaps sensing there were too many accessories going on (even for her).

Photos: See all of the Golden Globes red carpet looks

But we have to hand it to HBC. In a sea of beige and black, she definitely stood out for taking a risk -- and holding true to her own wacky style.

  • Owen is MIA, somewhere in Hawaii, doing a celebratory hula dance. - Jim Spellman/WireImageHave you met a "Ford" lately? Owen Wilson and girlfriend Jade Duell, who are celebrating the arrival of their baby son, picked a decidedly unusual name for the boy: Ford Linton. (Not after the car.)

"Ford" is strong, masculine and, most importantly, not inspired by a fictional "Twilight" character (why "Cullen" continues to chart as popular male baby name is terrifying, really) nor is it a parental vanity name that could make the child's formative years really difficult (as when Nicolas Cage christened his son Kal-El, aka Superman's birth moniker).

According to the website The Stir, Wilson and Duell -- who had a natural water birth, sans meds, at Wilson's Maui home -- had no deep, spiritual reason for choosing Ford: They just really liked it. As for Linton, which sounds a bit old-timey, that's Duell's dad's name.

But back to Ford: Of Old English origin, it means "river crossing." It's more of a last name (famous Fords: Henry, Harrison) but we kinda like it as a first.

  • "ROCKIN THE BIEBER SHADES! - THATS A SITUATION!" - twitter.com/itsthesituationAccording to The Situation's twitter account, the "Jersey Shore" star filmed a promo Friday afternoon with Justin Bieber for the 16-year-old's upcoming film "Never Say Never." (Apparently no one told Bieber that this promotional plan didn't work out so well for Michael Cera.)

While some may scoff at such a pairing, there are apparently people out there for whom this represents some intense form of wish fulfillment, like some girl with the Twitter handle "hailee_ray" who tweeted, "@ItsTheSituation and @justinbieber shooting a promo together? My two favorite people...this is like a dream come true."

Based on the twitpic posted by The Situation (pictured), it would appear neckties and sunglasses play a role in said promo. And though we know no more than that, we can all but guarantee the ad will be comprised of some combination of The Situation flashing his abs, Bieber tossing his hair around, and cringe-worthy use of the words "swagger" and "grenade."

  • "Getting sick" is not an option for touring pop stars. When we're sick, we take a nap; when Usher's sick, he walks off the stage, disappointing thousands of his fans who paid good money to watch him perform.

The singer/Justin Bieber mentor was far too ill to make it through his concert last night at Berlin's 02 Arena; after lip-synching some songs, he finally gave up, peacing out amid a chorus of boos from the audience. In a fan video (below), concertgoers are heard yelling "auf Wiedersehen!" and "F--k you Usher!" Usher makes his grand exit at the 7-minute mark.

A statement issued today from Usher's rep says he's been "suffering from upper respiratory illness which is currently preventing him from performing a proper show." Usher, forced to reschedule European tour dates until he recovers, had this to say: "I am truly sorry for any inconvenience I have caused my fans. My fans are the best in the world and I am looking forward to getting people so that I can give them the show

  • She'll score the Globe. But will she win Best Dressed? - Jim Spellman/WireImageOn the red carpet, the dress means everything: if you get it right, you're a style icon; if you get it wrong, you're roasted on Joan Rivers' "Fashion Police."

With The Golden Globes happening on Sunday, the pressure is on to make jaws drop in wow-worthy dresses: The world is watching, the media is waiting to pounce and viewers are judging from home.

Who will play it safe -- and who will take a risk? We asked fashion expert Brooke Moreland of Fashism.com for her take on the red-carpet styles of Globe nominees from Natalie Portman to Lea Michele, and what she thinks they should wear on the big night. Her spot-on assessment, below:

    Natalie Portman:

"With a hit movie, a new engagement and a baby bump, this is really Natalie's year. She will shine no matter what she wears. She could take Bjork's infamous 2001 swan dress, dye it black and pas de buerre down the red carpet and she'd still be a stunner. That said, we can see her opting for Rodarte, as she did in 2009. Rodarte made a lot of

  • Could Sofia Vergara Soon be a Senator’s Wife?

Vergara and Loeb in July. - Venturelli/WireImageNick Loeb -- the "tall and handsome scion to New York's Loeb Rhoades banking fortune" and the boyfriend of "Modern Family" star Sofia Vergara -- was running for Senate in Florida in 2009 when his wife at the time, a Swedish photographer, left him. Loeb decided to drop out of the race as he didn't think it was "fair" to his constituency to run during such a trying time in his personal life. (Loeb paid back his donors out of his own pocket.)

But now that his personal life is "squared away" and after having recovered from a serious car accident in August that left him hospitalized for weeks, he is considering running for the same Florida Senate seat next year.

Vergara is "very supportive" of his potential Senate campaign, Loeb said.

"She's excited," he said, "Obviously, we have to talk further. It will be difficult with her being in Los Angeles."

Though there have been reports that the couple is engaged, Loeb refuted those claims.

According to the New York Daily News, Vergara is

  • So Paris Hilton says she's misunderstood, that she was only just "playing a character" before. She's ready to show the skeptical public The Real Paris Hilton. In an interview with "Entertainment Tonight," the infamous heiress discusses her upcoming reality show, "The World According to Paris," where she will present her true self alongside co-stars Kathy Hilton (her mom) and Brooke Mueller (Charlie Sheen's ex).

(Brooke Mueller?!? Random! We know: This is a lot to process).

More importantly: Do we believe Hilton? Or is this her attempt to mimic the success of former-friend/now-rival Kim Kardashian, who's adored by millions for being a nice person on and off her E! reality franchise?

It's hard to tell what Hilton is thinking since she's more or less a blank slate of non-emotion. Let's give her the benefit of the doubt. Since the entire world was apparently wrong about Hilton's true moral character all along, we present five things The Real Paris would never do:

    1. Mistake cocaine for
