The Famous: Watching the Watched
  • Paz de la Hurt-a. - Gilbert Carrasquillo/FilmMagicWe should have seen this coming, based on her lipstick choices alone. Paz de la Huerta, star of "Boardwalk Empire" and red-carpet space oddity, was arrested last night. For clocking model Samantha Swetra in the face. Here's what went down, according to TMZ and the New York Daily News:

De la Huerta had been partying at the see-and-be-seen Standard Hotel in New York City on the wee hours of Sunday morning when the actress picked a fight with Swetra -- who appeared on MTV's former fake reality series "The City" -- for making a joke about her boozy reputation. The matchy-matchy-mouthed diva became incensed after Swetra yelled "triple axel!" after she lost her footing and fell on a table. Heh. So she threw a glass of wine at the model's leg and threw a punch, smacking Swetra's lips and nose.

You think that's good? We thought we'd save the best for last: a sober Lindsay Lohan witnessed the catfight, and helped Swetra pull out shards of glass from her bleeding leg. (Unsolicited suggestion for

  • Chad Michael Murray Drops The ‘Michael’

The Artist Formerly Known As Chad Michael Murray. - Jason LaVeris/FilmMagicMake sure you're sitting down before reading on.

In a recent interview with Troix Magazine, Chad Michael Murray -- of "One Tree Hill" fame -- revealed he will be dropping his middle name. From here on out, he will be known as Chad Murray.

The move comes as Murray attempts to be taken more seriously as an actor. Two years after leaving "One Tree Hill" (yeah, we didn't realize he had left the show, either), Murray says he wants to begin working with some high-profile directors, like Darren Aronofsky, Martin Scorsese or Terry Gilliam.

"I love 'The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus,'" he said. "It's what film should be about. It's true imagination where you go anywhere. It was just so beautiful. Definitely one of my top 10 films."

Melissa Joan Hart and Jonathan Taylor Thomas, please don't get any ideas. We don't think we can handle another shock like this one.

  • Our future husband. - Getty ImagesNow that Prince Willliam is off the market, tiara-hungry American desperados are flocking overseas to seduce his younger -- and hotter -- brother Harry. According to The Daily Beast, this is a trend: girls want to be princesses, and the Gingered One is their last and only hope! The desperation is so potent, it's almost ... contagious. Should we book a flight? Oh, IT'S ON. We're going to wear our smartest fascinator, map out all of Harry's hangouts, and stand by the bar until he shows up.

Lead the way, Courtney Fleming! The Harry-obsessed "California Anglophile" has successfully infiltrated royal circles:

With no accent to denote her breeding, Fleming -- who works part-time as an actress in the states -- seizes the opportunity to cast herself as a prince-friendly version of the archetypal California girl. "Sometimes the men are taken when they find out I'm from Los Angeles," she says. "But there's this stereotype that American girls are loud and obnoxious, so you have to find the

  • Lady Gaga visited the Googleplex in Mountain View, California yesterday for a question-and-answer session with Google VP Marissa Mayer in front of an enthusiastic audience of Googlers (many of whom dressed up as Gaga).

Dubbed #GoogleGoesGaga, the event was ostensibly meant to promote the company's new Google Moderator tool, but of course ended up serving essentially as a showcase for the Lady herself.

If you don't have the time to make it through the 73-minute video (yes, 73 minutes), here are a few of the highlights:

Gaga loves "David at the Dentist." When asked about her favorite YouTube video that is not one of her own, Gaga admitted she continually returns to this popular clip of a boy's loopy rant after getting anesthesia at the dentist. "I love the boy... when he comes home from the dentist. Because I always say, whenever I'm really tired before a show, I always go 'Is this real life?'"

Her teeth-brushing-before-bed-routine is the same as yours. Sort of. When asked what her

  • Taylor at the Academy Awards, circa 1993. - Kevin Mazur/WireImageSad news: Legendary actress Elizabeth Taylor died today at Cedar-Sinai hospital in Los Angeles at the age of 79. "She was surrounded by her children -- Michael Wilding, Christopher Wilding, Liza Todd, and Maria Burton," Taylor's spokeswoman said in a statement. Taylor had been suffering from congestive heart failure for the past six weeks; a year and a half ago, the star underwent an experimental procedure that she described on her Twitter as "very new and involves repairing my leaky valve using a clip device, without open heart surgery so that my heart will function better."

Taylor's iconic film career includes two Academy Awards for "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?" and "Butterfield 8," not to mention memorable roles in "A Place In The Sun," "Cleopatra" and "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof." Even so, her unconventional personal life -- seven marriages and a tight friendship with Michael Jackson, among other things -- frequently eclipsed her cinematic accolades.

She was also renowned for her

  • Zoe wore fur to flaunt her baby bump on March 10. - Rachel ZoeIs Hollywood megastylist Rachel Zoe a mom?

Too Fab reports that, as of yesterday, Zoe was in labor at Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles, preparing for the birth of her baby boy.

As we await confirmation from her camp, Zoe's usually active Twitter is tellingly quiet.

In the meantime, we pay tribute to the fashionista -- who generates more catchphrases than Charlie Sheen -- by leisurely sipping a Starbucks venti, and LIT-ER-ALLY trying not to spill it on our AH-MAZING vintage fur from Paris.

  • ABC Will Not Press Charges Against Chris Brown

Brown playing basketball Tuesday afternoon post-"Good Morning America." - Ray Tamarra/Getty ImagesAfter his window-shattering breakdown backstage at "Good Morning America" yesterday, Chris Brown will reportedly not be facing charges from the network.

TMZ says ABC will not press charges stemming from the incident; subsequently, the NYPD will not be investigating any further as there is no complaining victim.

There had been speculation that a potential investigation could have led to prison time for Brown since he is currently on probation from his felony beating of Rihanna.

Meanwhile, last night Brown celebrated his album release as scheduled with a party at Webster Hall that lasted well into the morning. Brown addressed the "Good Morning America" incident only obliquely, telling the audience after his performance, profoundly, "A lot of whack s--t happened today."

According to E! News, tickets were available for the party for $40, and the event was not sold out. There was no press line at the party, and "employees working the door were overheard dissing the singer" before the show.

  • Preliminary hearing for her trial set for April 22. - Getty ImagesLindsay Lohan has decided not to take the plea deal offered to her in her felony grand theft case, according to TMZ, which continues to find out about every detail of this case before Lohan even does, it seems like.

Lohan reportedly met with her lawyer Shawn Holley Tuesday afternoon and then came to her decision, as she feels "firm about her innocence and wants to push it to the wall at trial."

The preliminary hearing for the trial -- which will be presided over by Judge Stephanie Sautner -- is set for April 22.

Lohan now faces the possibility of jail or prison time as the result of her trial: jail if the judge determines that Lohan violated her probation, and prison if she is found guilty of grand theft.

Lohan seems to be keeping her mind off her legal matters today, however, as she tweeted from a Russian Harper's Baazar photo shoot earlier today and then expressed her affection for one of Britney Spears' new songs.

  • Chris Brown's alter ego. - WireImageWhat does Chris Brown do following his "Good Morning America" meltdown? Instead of hunkering down with a team crisis management experts, the embattled singer -- who smashed a window in his "GMA" dressing room after anchor Robin Roberts asked about Rihanna -- put on a pair of smart glasses for a trip to an NYC art gallery. (Watch the footage on TMZ; Brown is shown entering the Opera Gallery, silent but smiling.)

He also wore the specs Monday in an appearance on BET's "106 & Park."

But after Tuesday morning's incident, which was resulted in "GMA" staff phoning 911, Brown's accessory spoke volumes. It's as if Brown wants to project a wholesome image of "I didn't just break a window at a top-rated morning show! That was my alter ego."

  • You can live in this guy's old house for a cool $945,000. - John Shearer/WireImageIn a tale that somehow seems appropriate given it's about John Krasinski, "The Office" star is now selling his West Hollywood pad for $945,000 -- an amount dubbed "adorably low" by Gawker -- after he unsuccessfully tried to sell it for $1.245 million two years ago.

Krasinski, now married to Emily Blunt, bought the 1,279-square foot Country English house in 2006 for $1.05 million. The ".10 acres includes a guest house, hardwood floors and a patio," according to realtor.com, as well as "brown maple wood kitchen cabinets" and a "fountain in the lawn."

The chance to live in Jim Halpert's house and enjoy a lawn fountain? Sounds pretty good to us.
