The paper cites confirmation from three anonymous sources who said Huma Abedin is in the early stages of pregnancy, and the couple's friends and family are aware of the news. While Weiner fends off a swarm of media, Abedin has left the country: she's currently in northern Africa with Hillary Clinton, for whom she's worked as an aide since the late '90s. According to the Chicago Sun-Times, Clinton "thinks of Huma like another daughter. It just kills Hillary to see her friend and longtime key staff member be so horribly humiliated like that."

Update: Abedin has been spotted in the United Arab Emirates, wearing an appropriate color. And her wedding ring.

"Scarlett pursued him." - Jason LaVeris/FilmMagicWhen it was revealed last week that Sean Penn and Scarlett Johansson had called it quits, there was no explanation given for what led to the split.

Now Us Weekly is offering a (sort of vague) reason for the breakup. The magazine reports that Penn broke it off after five months because he didn't want anything "serious" after his divorce in 2010 from Robin Wright.

"Scarlett pursued him," their "insider" said.

Meanwhile, the portrayal of Johansson's behavior at the Spike TV Guys Choice Awards Saturday night is, to say the least, unflattering.

... She scrambled for face time with the Oscar winner. "She pushed herself into his conversations," a witness tells Us. "She sat down between him and Robert De Niro. Robert was like 'What?' and made a face."

Johansson also made sure they were snapped together. "A photographer asked for a shot," the source says. "Before Sean could say no, she said yes."

"I saw that Ke$ha woman the other day. She was sitting by herself, and I walked up to her and said, 'Listen, I got your e-mail. Your music is really bad! I don't know who listens to it, but I imagine it's, like, six-year-olds -- and it's a bad message."

The actress was snapped (football pun!) on her way out of a restaurant in West Hollywood with New York Jets wide receiver Scotty McKnight. The 21-year-old had been seen in Malibu over Memorial Day Weekend with Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez, which had led to talk that the two might be dating, but it would seem Panettiere is more enchanted with the 23-year-old McKnight.

"I'm a huge Jets fan and became very good friends with Mark and his buddies," Panettiere told Us Weekly last week. "I've always been that girl who has a lot of dude friends. I'm into sports so we have a lot in common."

The good news is that if the 6'7" Klitschko returns to try and brawl Panettiere's new boyfriend to win her back (something that is definitely certain to happen), at least McKnight will presumably be up for the challenge.

Last week, she caused photo agencies to explode when she showed up to the French Open, causing us to wonder if she secretly loved the attention. (We suspect she does.)

Anyway, we confess to living somewhat vicariously through the 27-year-old sister of Kate: she's pretty, she's fun, she has great style and she doesn't seem to have a job. Who wants to work all day when you can GO BOATING IN MADRID? Or roam the Spanish ciudad with a band of discreetly loyal Pipparettes? Or attend glamorous beach parties?

Is Ashley Hebert crazy? That's the headline on the new issue of Life & Style, which gives away a bummer of a plot spoiler: according to sources, the perky "Bachelorette" throws common sense out the window and invites creepy Bentley Williams to join her on a romantic excursion to Hong Kong. The single dad from Salt Lake City talked a bunch of smack behind Hebert's back, calling the 26-year-old dentist an "ugly duckling," and then made up a lie about missing his daughter as an excuse to leave the show.
