Kristen Stewart vs. Gwen Stefani — Fashion Faceoff

Two rebellious beauties, "Twilight's" Kristen Stewart and rocker Gwen Stefani, are both known for their fearless looks on the red carpet. So naturally we did a double take when both women stepped out in strikingly similar garments: Balenciaga floral-print skinny pants with side zippers. KStew, who's been wearing plenty of Balenciaga as she promotes her new film "Snow White and the Huntsman," once explained her laid-back approach to style to Allure: "I go outside, and I'm wearing a funky T-shirt and my hair is dirty, and people say, 'What's wrong with her? She needs to invest in a hairbrush,'" Stewart told the magazine. "I'm like, Don't you get it? I'm not that girl! Like, I never was that girl." Lately, however, Stewart's been cleaning up quite nicely! Stefani, on the other hand, has made a shift in recent years from a wardrobe of (rock hard) ab-baring ensembles of white undershirts and pants to Old Hollywood-style glamour gowns and designer duds. (Of course, she designs herself for her "flirty rocker label" L.A.M.B., which features minidresses, vests, pants, and skirts in colorful tribal patterns and neons, according to the website.) So who will win this style showdown? It's time to decide ... who wore it best!

Stewart, 22, donned the yellow version of the pants at the Cannes Film Festival in France, where she was promoting her new movie "On the Road," based on the famed Jack Kerouac novel of the same name. The "Adventureland" star added a white tank by Juicy Couture, a black blazer from Rebecca Minkoff, black shades, and black leather pumps.

Stefani, 42, wore the pants in white while she was out and about in L.A. last month. The No Doubt star also rocked a white top and black blazer, as well as black shades. She went barefoot for one of her favorite activities of walking along the beach, which she's often spotted doing with her Bush hubby Gavin Rossdale and their two sons, 6-year-old Kingston and 3-year-old Zuma. The hot mama finished her look by piling her hair on top of her head and applying some bright red lipstick.

I couldn't pull off those busy pants, and I suspect that very few people could. However, both Stewart and Stefani really made them work thanks to their edgy sense of style. Stewart was right to choose a more colorful pair of pants, since she went with classic black and white on top. She also looks happier than she usually does when promoting her work, which always makes for a better photograph. On the other hand, Gwen's messy updo adds to her overall cool, beachy vibe. I say the pants were a good choice for both women, but Stewart gets my vote for the best look. Do you agree that she wore it best?
