Tina Turner-Erwin Bach engagement latest in long line of late link-ups

Is 73-year-old Tina Turner “Rollin” in good news? The legendary singer not only snagged her first ever Vogue cover recently, but now there is news that she and her longtime boyfriend, German record producer Erwin Bach, are engaged!

Turner met Bach, a younger man by 17 years, in 1985 in London – nine years after she left her abusive first husband, Ike Turner. They’ll reportedly tie the knot in Zurich, Switzerland, where they’ve lived together for 15 years.

For Bach and Turner, it seems like love’s got everything to do with it, as they finally make the choice to walk down the aisle after so many years. But they’re not the first to wait to make it official – here are other couples who chose to put a ring on it later in life.

Harrison Ford and Calista Flockhart

Ford and Flockhart met at the 2002 Golden Globes, and have been one of Hollywood’s most stable pairs ever since. But although their relationship seemed rock solid, and they were both raising Flockhart’s adopted son Liam, it took them until June of 2010 to finally get hitched. Flockart was 47, and Ford was 67.

Dick Van Dyke and Arlene Silver

The legendary comedian Dick Van Dyke, 87, met makeup artist Arlene Silver, 41, at the 2006 SAG Awards, which Dyke says was the “first time [he] ever hit on a woman in [his] life!" They got married in February of 2012.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt

“Brangelina” was coined way back in 2005, when Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt first discovered their chemistry on the set of “Mr. and Mrs. Smith,” which led to Pitt’s divorce from Jennifer Aniston. Though the pair have a large family of adopted and biological children, they have said in the past they wouldn’t become man and wife until gay marriage was legal in the United States. However, after seven years together, they announced their engagement in 2012 (Jolie is 37, and Pitt is 49), leaving the world forever on "Brangelina Wedding Watch 2013."

“It means so much to my kids, and they ask a lot. And it means something to me, too, to make that kind of commitment,” Pitt said.

Hugh Hefner and Crystal Harris

The most famous ladies man in the world made a surprise move when he got engaged to his “Number One” girlfriend Crystal Harris in 2010, the same year his divorce from second wife Kimberley Conrad was finalized (they were separated for 11 years, and finally divorced after their youngest son turned 18). Harris and Hefner married on December 31, 2012 – he was 86, and she was 26.
