    The Fabulous Fur Trend

    It seems incredible that just one piece of clothing can take your look from so-so to standout, but it's true when it's trimmed in fur. Whether the pricey real deal or the less controversial -- but still fashionable -- faux version, the fur look is fierce this season!

    Designers such as Zac Posen and Marc Jacobs added fur to jackets, vests, hats, bags, and more in collections this year, while both Chanel and Prada used imitations of the material in their recent creations.

    However you wear it, know that one of the best things about fur is its versatility. Celebs like Jennifer Lopez and Fergie have added a touch of glamour to their outfits with fur. Eve, on the other hand, injected some of her signature funky style, while Rachel Zoe exuded sophistication.

      Once again, Rachel Zoe does it best. Using (hopefully faux) fur as an accent piece to draw attention to the ensemble. Plus keeping the fur a little flatter and not so thick, makes you look less thick. Everyone else...have Rachel style you.

      Get out the can of red spray paint and ruin their cheap animalistic behavior. What a bunch of sickos killing innocent animals for fur. I mean the cave men wore them but I thought civilization had progressed past this neanderthal mind set.

      I'm not advocating the wearing of fur (wouldn't wear it myself, real or faux), but I'm wondering why animals raised for their pelts are so much more deserving of protection than animals raised for their meat? Sure, animals such as cows, alligators, ostrich, and deer (among others) are raised for their meat and their skin, but there are other animals that people have no trouble consuming that are raised for a single purpose (turkeys, for example). Is it just the cute furry animals that deserve such passionate outrage?

        I think it is due to a misunderstanding about how animals are raised for human consumption. Most fur comes from farms in the US, where the animals are raised in better conditions than chickens or pigs. We don't eat mink 'steaks', but condemning fur and then wearing leather or using feather and leather products is just hypocritical. Chickens, pigs, lambs and cows are not sedated before they are killed for slaughter. Its 6 of one and half a dozen of the other. Its amazing how people will believe everything PETA tells them without doing their own research.

        Gerald, obviously seals are NOT raised on ranches, duh.. You need to research the Agricultural business of fur farming. There are veterinary mandated requirements for how the animals are raised and harvested. That's more than is done for other farm animals - that we eat. There are NO guidelines for raising cattle, chickens, sheep, or rabbits. If those farmers abuse their animals, the ASPCA must get involved to press charges. Now go study your geography so you understand where seals live. And I don't think there is a furrier in the US that even sells anything made with Seal fur.
