    • Trend or Foe? Chokers

Jennifer Lopez at the 70th Academy Awards, March 1998 (S. Granitz/WireImage)Drew Barrymore at the Billboard Music Awards, December 1993 (S. Granitz/WireImage)

Fashion fads come and go. That's why the flannel shirt craze, the pointy stiletto party, and the high-waisted pants phenomenon reemerge (and quickly disappear from racks) every few years. But unlike the aforementioned trends, the more recent, '80s-inspired boom — complete with shoulder pads and denim jackets — seems to be here to stay. No, Urban Outfitters and American Apparel aren't stocking as many oversized sweaters and Wayfarer knockoffs, but there's no denying that certain elements, like neon, aren't going anywhere, anytime soon. And while fashions from the decade of indulgence still sell well, they'll soon start facing serious competition from gear that got its start in the 1990s.

That's right, the decade that delivered grunge, "90210," and "Clueless" is back, and items from that era are starting to pop up on store shelves from coast to coast. In fact, chunky footwear is already hitting the pavement, so dust off your old Doc Martens. And while you're at it, you may want to rifle through your accessories drawer and dig out that choker you used to rock in 1993. Yep, the choker!

    • "This Mean War" is the title of Reese Witherspoon's latest movie, but it could also describe the message she recently sent to actress Rooney Mara. The two hit the red carpet in the same chic, retro-shaped sleeveless dress just five weeks apart. "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo's" Lisbeth Salander isn't one to back away from a fight, so this fashion battle is on! And it's up to us to decide just who wore it best.

    • Emma Watson Gets a Bad-Girl Makeover for ‘The Bling Ring’ Movie

Watson on the set (PacificCoastNews.com)Emma Watson's days of playing Hermione Granger are well behind her as she debuts a sexy new look for her new film "The Bling Ring."

The British actress — best known for her role as a spell-casting schoolgirl in the "Harry Potter" franchise — has undergone a complete transformation for her part as a bad girl in the Sofia Coppola-directed flick about the group of California teenagers who robbed the homes of a long list of celebrities, including Orlando Bloom, Lindsay Lohan and Megan Fox. In new photos taken on the Venice Beach movie set, Watson shows off a whole new side, parading around in Daisy Dukes and a bra — baring her belly — while wearing animal-print heels.

The photos also reveal a "tramp stamp" tattoo on her lower back that is temporary for the role.

    • Easter may be over, but our obsession with pastels continues! In fact, denim pants in shades like light pink, baby blue, pale yellow, and mint green, to name a few, are becoming wardrobe staples this spring and summer. Stars like Cameron Diaz, Jessica Alba, Kim Kardashian, and LeAnn Rimes are fans of the style, but, fortunately, you don't have to be a celeb to make it work.

    • Jun Sato/WireImageRihanna at the premiere. (Jun Sato/WireImage)Pop star Rihanna is famous for her polarizing looks, and the world premiere of her new movie "Battleship" (in which she makes her acting debut) in Tokyo on Tuesday was no exception. The 24-year-old songstress donned an Emilio Pucci Fall 2012 blue-and-gold ensemble that some media outlets called bizarre, but others, like fashion-forward blogs, said was just good style. Along with her controversial outfit, RiRi wore her locks, which she recently dyed black and partly shaved, over one shoulder, bared some major cleavage, and added a necklace and tan sandals, which some mistakenly took for bare feet. The "Only Girl (In the World)" singer is not the first to try out the pajama-inspired look. Others who have sported the spring trend include Jessica Alba and Matt Damon.

    • Peggy Sirota/GLAMOURWhile realty TV stars are often here today, gone tomorrow, "The Hills" and "Laguna Beach" star Lauren Conrad has managed to extend her 15 minutes of fame. The 26-year-old's bestselling series of young adult novels, L.A. Candy and its spin-off trilogy The Fame Game (the first of which hits stores April 3), are loosely based on her experiences on those shows, which weren't always painless. "On the vacation to Cabo, I wore a bathing suit on the beach for the first time in years. Usually I'm just petrified," she confesses to Glamour magazine. "A couple of years ago someone zoomed in on my cellulite and it was so mean. I took it really personally. I haven't worn a bathing suit in L.A. in years because of that." As you can see from the pics that accompany the story, the rule doesn't apply to photo shoots! The co-founder of TheBeautyDepartment.com and designer behind Paper Crown lounges by a pool, frolics in the grass, and shows off some skin (even going tastefully topless in one photo!) in a swimsuit and several other summery looks.

    • Salma Hayek covers Lucky. Patrick Demarchelier/LuckySalma Hayek is one of those beauties who's so striking, so breathtaking that it's hard to imagine she ever went through an awkward phase. But the Mexican-born star insists otherwise. "My skin?! When I was 25 and I left being a soap opera star in Mexico to go try to be a movie star in Hollywood and all of Mexico was laughing at me? And I could barely get work as an extra? You want to talk about bad skin? I had acne," the 45-year-old confesses to Lucky magazine. "And this acne was so bad it sent me into a severe, severe depression. Like I couldn't leave the house. I'd wake up in the morning and lie there and touch my face before I got up, just to prepare myself to look in the mirror! The next stage with that sort of depression is food: too little, or too much. Guess what I did? I mean, I was fat and broken out, I couldn't leave the house and I couldn't pay the rent!" Salma credits the drug Accutane, which she took reluctantly, and her friend, director Alfonso Cuaron, with giving her the motivation to change her reflection. "[Cuaron] did not play it down, he did not try to say, oh you look fine. He said you can't do this to yourself and taught me to meditate, relax. I got myself back together!"
