Although they spent much of their weekend fighting, Bieber, 18, and Gomez, 20, certainly looked like a happy couple at an afterparty at the JW Marriott Los Angeles on Sunday night. The "Baby" singer, wearing the same outfit he had on at the show (including those odd red studded loafers!), and the "Wizards of Waverly Place" actress, who was casually dressed in boots and jeans, arrived together at the bash.
She had her hand around his arm in a clear public display of affection.

The on-again couple stood side-by-side at the party while chatting with his mother, Pattie Mallette, who was Bieber's official date at the award show earlier in the evening. Then they sat next to each other among a large group of friends and chatted casually.
Jenny McCarthy, who playfully tried to put the moves on Bieber during the AMAs, was also at the party and shared her Jelena sighting on Twitter. "My cub @justinbeiber brought his acceptable and beautifully aged beauty Selena to the AMA after party. Guess I'm back on the prowl. Rww!"
Later in the evening, Bieber went with Gomez to her L.A. home.
Things seem to be looking up for the couple. A week after splitting, they appeared to be trying to work out their woes during the week, spending time at Gomez's house and arriving together at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills. But a Friday night dinner date went off the rails — and Gomez left minutes after arriving. She then spent Saturday night with her best bud Taylor Swift, and seemed to be sending some kind of a message with the T-shirt she wore that said, "You make me happy when skies are gray."
As for Bieber and Gomez's off-again, on-again relationship status, a source close the couple told Us Weekly, "They are [young]. It changes from day to day. It's hard to say how they will end up. ... We'll see."

Because of his rocky relationship with Gomez, Bieber invited his 37-year-old mother to the American Music Awards on Sunday. (He asked her on Twitter!) During the show he picked up three awards, including Artist of the Year. When he gave his acceptance speech, he brought Mallette to the stage. "This is my mom," he told the crowd. "She's little but she's beautiful." Turning to Mallette, Bieber said, "I want to thank you for just always believing in me."
So while his relationship with Gomez seems to change from day to day, Bieber can always count on his mom!
