By Kris Humphries' calculations, he deserves $97,222 for every day he was married to Kim Kardashian. According to an E! Online report, the NBA forward is stalling his divorce from the reality star by rejecting her "generous" monetary offer and instead demanding a $7 million payout for their 72-day marriage, which ended in October. "Kris is dragging it out," says a source. "Kim is ready to move on, but Kris is hoping that stretching it out will get him even more money … There is a fair offer on the table, but he just won't sign it."
In exchange for the $7 million Humphries wants, he will agree to never speak about what really went on during his brief union with Kardashian, 31. Although the relationship played out in front of the cameras of her reality shows, "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" and "Kourtney and Kim Take New York," there was much more going on behind the scenes. In a recent Life & Style cover story, an insider claims she was only with Humphries, 26, for ratings. "One thing is certain," promises one of his attorneys to the magazine, "Kris Humphries intends to set the record straight."
During a March 20 appearance on "The Tonight Show With Jay Leno," Kardashian insisted she married Humphries for love, despite what it looked like on TV — and the warnings of her concerned family. "I'm a person, when I'm in love, you can't tell me anything," she told Leno. "And you gotta go through it yourself. So, I did what I believed in doing, and sometimes you don't want to hear what your family has to say … You look back and you're like, 'OK, that was a sign,' or, you know, 'Maybe I should have listened to them,'" she told Leno. "But, I wouldn't have been who I am today had I not gone through that."
