Stop the presses! Kim Kardashian has added a new bullet point to her extensive resume of mediocre skills -- singer. On Wednesday, the star of "Kourtney and Kim Take New York" debuted her new single, "Jam (Turn It Up)," on Ryan Seacrest's KIIS FM show, and the response has been overwhelmingly ... underwhelming.
With more gratuitous use of auto tune than Internet star Antoine Dodson's "Bed Intruder," Kim's new single, produced by The-Dream, is generic to say the least. Maybe anticipating the backlash, Kim was quick to downplay her talents during her appearance on KIIS FM.
"I think it's only normal for me to be nervous," she said to Seacrest, adding, "I'm only human. I've never sang [sic] before. This was definitely something that I don't do, so for me to step outside of my comfort zone to do this is like a really big deal."
The song's one saving grace? It's all for a good cause. Kim tweeted Tuesday night, "This was just a fun new experience! I am so glad I went for it! And the proceeds to JAM are being donated to St. Jude's Children's hospital."
With that in mind, hopefully Kim will stick to her day job -- reality starlet/entrepreneur/endorser of every product under the sun -- and leave the singing to the real musicians from now on!
