The haughty actress was apparently too good to walk four doors down the street from the building where she attended an event to the sit-down dinner that followed, so she had her chauffeur drive her the distance — which took a mere 10 seconds! After partying at her pal Stella McCartney's West Hollywood boutique on Friday to celebrate her father Sir Paul McCartney's directorial debut with his music video "My Valentine," the revelry continued on for a meal at Italian eatery Madeo. And while the rest of the guests, including her own husband, Chris Martin, Miranda Kerr, and 74-year-old Jane Fonda, walked the short distance, Paltrow refused. Instead, the supposedly environmentally friendly star opted for a ride in her gas guzzler.
When contacted by the New York Post, which was the first to break the story, Paltrow's rep did not deny his client's diva behavior — but blamed it on the paparazzi, hungry for a rare shot of her and Martin together. "Chris walked to the restaurant and Gwyneth took a car in hopes of splitting up the paparazzi who were getting very aggressive and nasty," Paltrow's publicist Stephen Huvane said. "This is what the security at the event suggested they do because other guests had a difficult time walking to the restaurant. Do you really think she did not want to walk?"
Paltrow, 39, has evoked many an eye roll over the years. On her personal blog, GOOP, she makes lavish recommendations to her readers, like a must-have $18,000 wardrobe the average person would never be able to afford. Then there was that story of the woman the actress "saved" on September 11 when she almost ran her over with her car, thus making the New Yorker late for work at one of the Twin Towers and not in the building when the plane hit. And of course there's the incessant bragging about being BFFs with Beyonce and hanging with her daughter Blue Ivy, who "just has this glow around her like her mother. She's stunning."
But arguably her worst offense? Saying she'd rather smoke crack than eat cheese from a can!
