Hey...bring back all those "baby boomer's" who knew how to rock n' roll from those fabulous/turbulent 60's! The Stones, Beach Boys, Beatles, Johnny Rivers, The Doors, Papa's and Mama's, Bob Dylan and many many more...! Nice to see Brian Wilson on stage...peace!

What no mention of Chuck Berry, and Muddy Waters, oh I see they are black. Bye the way Chuck Berry started that music, The Beach Bums, and the Falling Stones copied that music and called it Rock n Roll. I can think of quite a few so called artist copied music, Elvis Presley.
      • TuffTee 3 months ago
Chuck berry loved the beach boys the stones and the beatles at least there music was getting heard even if they got little or no money from it .

Where did all the talent go? It's few and far between.

I wonder if the Beach Boys think, "Wow, once upon a time people actually wrote songs themselves and played instruments, now everyones claim to fame is blue hair, machine guns sewn to your dress or stealing,er "sampling" other peoples music".

that's why the 60's,70's and 80's were the story tellers of our lives, so glad i grew up then rather than now, music now is just plain ridiculous

"I get around" will always be the anthem for any boy who lived from 1962 to 1965. God bless the BB!

Stacy- You are an idiot and you know absolutely nothing about the Beach Boys. They made the big time and all you have is a sarcasm to keep you going. Sad. so sad.
      • Laura 3 months ago
that's how these young generations are now, sarcastic, judgemental and just nothing nice or good to say
      • Ysl Dj 3 months ago
Laura, this now generation have no knowledge of the real sound of music, 50's to the 80's music will live forever. the pleasant sound, the melody and lyrics is certainly will be consider a work of arts.

I keep seeing that they were possibly lip synching......no way. When you have 5 members harmonizing like only the Beach Boys can, you can't tell who is singing what. They were incredible last night for being their 50th year. Looking forward to them coming to Detroit! Thank you Beach Boys!

Beach Boys, Rolling Stones, The Who etc.. Made music that was sung...not like today where all these artist songs are electronic synthesized.

I guess, being the old f**t that I am, I have to say something positive about the Beach Boys. It was great to see the guys back together again (what was left of them anyway). I have been a fan since the beginning, I used to have all their old LP's but they got lost during one of my moves although I do have a box set of CD's that I still enjoy. These guys are a huge part of rock & roll history and Brian Wilson is a musical genius, not at all cool to put them down like some of you have done. All that being said, even though I'm not really a Maroon 5 fan, Adam did a great job on "Surfer Girl".

Well I am 25 and I LOVE them! I went to thier concert in Lancaster a few months ago it was mine and my grandma's first concert and we jammed out. They were awesome although they weren't all at this concert.
      • John T 3 months ago
SO glad you and your grandma enjoyed them, Cass. Maybe you'll get to see them all when they come your way on the upcoming reunion tour. I hope so. Give my regards to "grandma" (as I suspect she's a contemporary of mine, as I turn 60 this year!).

R*** , I STILL do have ALL those Original LP's by the Boys, and still Listen to 'em ,Bro'.
    • Sam  •  Franklin, Tennessee  •  3 months ago
The Beach Boys Rock. They may be approaching retirement age, but they still did a better job than anyone else on that show. Their music has never contained foul language and they don't need some under dressed trashy woman on stage to get the crowd involved. The faces in the crowd said it all. They were loving it.

nice to see David Marks up there - little known Beach Boy who was on three of the early albums and most of the Early hits
    • dean  •  Seattle, Washington  •  3 months ago
The Beach Boys had a geat run from about 1962-1966. Pet Sounds is generally regarded my most critics to be one of the 10 best albums of all time. There is nobody out there right now who is writing the calibur of songs like "Wouldn't It Be Nice" or "God Only Knows."

New music is forgettable these days. Not much talent comes from force fed pop.
    • TomM  •  Maringouin, Louisiana  •  3 months ago
A lot of us agree music today is not like it was in the BB days, I think the main reason is the demise of Radio as we knew it then. The radio jocks only played what was good and it weeded out all the crap!...now with the taped canned radio of today no one with talent can have a recording aired and placed out there for millions to hear. Anyone with studio and taping money can now lease and record anything to be sold, and it certainly shows with all this garbage we now hear. Youth today is the bearers of bad vibes bad government and just plain bad living. I have 60 gigs of real music so I Have all I need to sustain me until I die, which will be sooner rather than later. It was a grand run...

Actually, the Beach Boys still tour and put on a great show. The real reunion will come about when Brian Wilson performs with surviving original members Mike Love and Denis Jardine.
Caught one of their performances a couple of months ago, and they still have the sound that is their trademark. Like a lot of the older grouops still performing, they manage to put on a better show than the biggest part of what's contemporary. There will always be a place for groups like the Beach Boys, Temptations, Rolling Stones, Four Seasons, Four Tops and so many others who came from the 60s who are still out there.
