In a new interview with the U.K. Sun, Mendes revealed her Canadian beau's knack for charming the children on the set of their new film, "The Place Beyond the Pines."
"He loves babies and he loved playing with the little boy we used in the film to play our son," Mendes said. "There's one intense scene in particular where everyone has been screaming, including the baby. The beauty of that scene comes when Ryan picks up the baby and he immediately quiets down and starts to fall asleep on him. That’s just magical."
The 39-year-old actress added that Gosling's baby charm was not just a one-time thing.
“We did a lot of takes, and that was one of the most beautiful moments in the film, because babies don’t act,” she said.

Two years ago, Gosling admitted that if he weren't making movies, he'd be "making babies."
"I'd like to be making babies but I'm not, so I'm making movies," the 32-year-old Ontario native told the U.K. Times. "When someone comes along I don't think I'll be able to do both and I'm fine with that. I'll make movies until I make babies. I have no idea when the handover will happen."
But we're not sure whether it will ever happen with Mendes. The "Other Guys" star revealed in an interview with W magazine in 2010 that she isn't sure she wants to have kids.
"I’ve never had a longing to have children," she said. "I've been thinking about it lately because it's like, 'Oh, God, am I going to do this?' 'I don’t know' is the answer."
