Andrade/Perkins/PacificCoastNews.comAfter attending the Palm Springs Film Festival a few weeks ago, actress Olivia Wilde decided to return to the Southern California desert resort town for a little R&R with her new beau, Jason Sudeikis, and her dog, Paco, over the weekend. With Palm Springs usually boasting sunny skies and temps in the 70s this time of year, the couple -- who just went public with their relationship this month -- probably imagined some poolside lounging or maybe a mountain hike.

Unfortunately, the weather didn't exactly cooperate as 70 mph winds ripped through the area, uprooting trees, downing power lines, closing roads, and knocking electricity out in part of the city, including the hotel where the couple was staying!
After spending most of Saturday indoors (where hotel guests reportedly relied on candles and flashlights to get around), the "Cowboy & Aliens" beauty and "Saturday Night Live" castmember were spotted packing up their car and getting ready to head home on Sunday, along with Paco (who, incidentally, once served as "spokesdog" for Old Navy).

Olivia and Jason were still smiling on their way out of town despite the ordeal. And why not? There are worse things in the world than being holed up with your new significant other in a hotel room, after all …
