The "Great Balls of Fire" singer, 76, got married once again on March 9 in Mississippi — and for the second time, his choice of a bride is raising eyebrows. Lewis, who infamously wed his 13-year-old cousin in 1958, said "I do" with his caretaker Judith Ann Coghlan Brown, 62 … who also happens to be his cousin's ex-wife. "She's real happy," Brown's sister Carolyn Coghlan Gremillion told The Associated Press. "They have a really very loving relationship. I guess she's probably really taken better care of him than anybody."
Ironically, the cousin in question, Rusty Brown, is also the younger brother of Myra Gale Brown, who became the "Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On" singer's third wife when she was just a young teen and he was 23-years-old. When their secret relationship was exposed, naturally the public backlash against Lewis was brutal and it forced him to cancel his British tour after just three shows. Once he returned to America, his music was subsequently blacklisted from all radio and his career never did quite recover. Lewis and Myra were married for 13 years and had two children together.
As for his most recent wedding, it was small, reveals his new sister-in-law, and only Gremillion, her husband, and Lewis' sister and her husband were in attendance. And for those wondering, the new bride (a former model and flight attendant) says she married for love, not for money. "To the people that think there's never going to be someone out there for them to love, just wait until they're in their 60s and 70s," Brown told The Associated Press on Friday. "It's better than ever."
Lewis' new wife and his cousin Rusty divorced in 2010. Lewis split from his sixth wife, Kerrie McCarver, in 2004 after 20 years of marriage.
