Oscars Front-Runners Emerge After Golden Globes

Sunday's Golden Globes results make one thing clear for the upcoming Oscars race. One single movie won't sweep the Academy Awards

• "The Artist" and "The Descendants" are now the clear Best Picture front-runners.
• George Clooney is the one to beat for Best Actor. Meanwhile, "The Artist" charmer Jean Dujardin became a household name -- but he should buy a copy of Rosetta Stone now.
• "The Iron Lady"'s Meryl Streep will finally get that third Oscar this year, while Viola Davis of "The Help" will be showered with leading roles. Michelle Williams, the comedy and musical winner, will be nominated for an Oscar but won't win.
• Octavia Spencer will bring "The Help" some Oscar love as Best Supporting Actress.
• Octogenarian Christopher Plummer, honored here for playing a gay dad who comes out of the closet late in life, will get lifetime love that stretches all the way back to "The Sound of Music."

Some Golden Globe nominees have peaked already. Here's where they stand:

• Steven Spielberg's "War Horse," once an early frontrunner for Best Picture, will not win.
• Angelina Jolie's "In the Land of Blood and Honey" will not be a best foreign film contender. Golden Globes winner, "A Separation," will likely land the award.
• "Carnage" stars Jodie Foster and Kate Winslet can wear their pajamas and cuddle with their kids on Oscar night.
• Serious actor Jonah Hill won't ride a "Moneyball" wave to become one of the five Best Supporting Actor Oscar nominees -- but he gets points for bringing his little sister to the Globes.
• Ryan Gosling, absent from the awards, will not make the final Oscar cut despite being nominated in both drama, and comedy and musical categories at the Globes.
