Reese Witherspoon welcomes son Tennessee James Toth

It's a boy for Reese Witherspoon — and the proud mama gave her new son a name that's a nod to her home state.

Tennessee James Toth was born on Thursday. "Both mom and baby are healthy and the entire family is thrilled," a rep told People.

This baby is the first for Witherspoon, 36, and her husband, talent agent Jim Toth, who tied the knot in March 2011. The actress also has two children — Ava, 13, and Deacon, 8 — from her marriage to Ryan Phillippe.

Like many other celebrities, Witherspoon went with a place name for her new addition. Tennessee has a special place in the actress' heart because she grew up there. Although she was born in Louisiana, where her father attended medical school, she moved to Nashville soon after and still visits her family there.

When Witherspoon's weekend home, which is now for sale, was recently featured in Elle Décor, she said she purchased the Ojai, California, estate because it brought back memories of her youth. "It reminds me of growing up in Tennessee, where we spent all day outside," she told the magazine. "I wanted my children to have that experience, to get muddy and hang out with the animals. … It's like having a little bit of Tennessee in California."
