‘Real Housewives’ star Kim Zolciak gives new son a rich name

"Real Housewives of Atlanta" diva Kim Zolciak is known for her lavish lifestyle — who can forget her $1 million wedding? So we can't say we're surprised that the name she selected for her new son is Kash.

Yes, Kash.

Kash Kade Biermann was born Wednesday, the 34-year-old "Tardy for the Party" singer announced on Twitter. Zolciak said she and her husband, Atlanta Falcons defensive end Kroy Biermann, were "sooo excited" about their new addition and feeling "so blessed." The baby joins big brother Kroy Jagger "KJ" Biermann, Jr., 14 months, and Zolciak's daughters from a previous relationship: Brielle, 15, and Ariana, 9.

Zolciak's name selection is getting a lot of buzz because, if you've caught even a minute of her on TV, you know she's a big spender — and we aren't talking about just her wig budget. In her Bravo spinoff "Don't Be Tardy for the Wedding," viewers were given an inside look at her $1 million wedding, which included three outfit changes totaling close to $100,000! And her wedding cake set her back a cool $14,000. "We spared no expense. You only do this once," she later told Life & Style magazine. "It was very expensive, but we were in a position to do it, and I'm thankful for that."

Everybody seems to be a critic when it comes to celebrity baby names, and this case is no different. On Twitter @CriticLady wrote about Zolciak's name, "Congrats but that's not a good name, not one bit." Then there was @malisaann who tweeted, "She spelled cash wrong." And @Khalisar said, "What a cheesy name or should I say keesy name!!!!"

And is it just us or does Zolciak and Biermann's naming style — giving their children "K" names like mom and dad — seem Kardashian-inspired? "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" matriarch Kris Jenner famously picked names starting with that letter for all her daughters: Kourtney, Kim, Khloe, Kendall, and Kylie. Zolciak is clearly a fan of the family. For her October 2011 nuptials, she seemed to copy several details from Kim's wedding to Kris Humphries — from the three outfit changes to the K&K monogram all over the place. Zolciak has also been known to tweet things to the Kardashian klan — though, it doesn't seem like she's received much Twitter love back from the first family of reality TV.

Meanwhile, critics take note: Kash actually isn't that unusual for a baby name. Since 2008 it has grown significantly in popularity. And it's a modified version of the name Cash, which many celebrities — from Slash to Big & Rich singer John Rich — have given their offspring.
