Orlando Bloom’s Son Flynn Named After Late Grandmother

Orlando Bloom may play a cocky rock star in "Sympathy for Delicious," but in real life he's a devoted dad to his 3 1/2-month-old baby boy Flynn with supermodel Miranda Kerr.

The 34-year-old actor was snapped at a West Hollywood after party on Wednesday celebrating his gritty new indie film -- directed by Mark Ruffalo -- about a recently paralyzed DJ battling the mean streets of Los Angeles in his wheelchair, who gets more than he bargained for when he seeks out the world of faith healing.

Earlier in the day, Bloom also made an appearance on "Live With Regis and Kelly" in NYC, where he promoted his flick and revealed the significance behind his son Flynn's name. Turns out, little Flynn was named after Orlando's late grandmother, Evelyn, who passed away while his wife, Miranda, was pregnant.

"I was convinced we were going to have a girl because my grandmother actually passed when Flynn was conceived and she was really dear to my heart," he shared. "Evelyn was my grandmother, on my father's side ... I was thinking ... we're going to have a girl, it's going to be called Evelyn." Of course, Orlando and Miranda got a surprise when their baby turned out to be a boy, so inspired by the name Evelyn, they decided to call their first child Flynn. How sweet!
