Mom-to-be of twins Anna Paquin: ‘I have a side that’s very nesty’

Earlier this week news trickled out that Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer have not one but two babies on the way when the stork makes its special delivery this fall. While Moyer is an experienced dad (he has two children from previous relationships), the twins will be Paquin's first babies — and the "True Blood" actress is preparing for the life-changing event.

"I have a side that's very nesty, and another that thinks, 'Let's lock up the house and go away for five months,'" the British actress, who plays Sookie in the HBO series, admits to Redbook. However, married to Moyer since August 2010, the 29-year-old says she easily settled into domestic life. "I love being married. We're super-geeks who will happily spend an entire hour online looking for the perfect lamp."

Working with her husband — and doing steamy love scenes with Alexander Skarsgard for the show — sounds like it would make for an awkward day at work, but Paquin says it's not as odd as it seems. "We feel completely comfortable together," she tells the magazine. "Steve and Alex are buddies. It's nothing like, 'Oh, hi, nice to meet you. Now let's take off our clothes and go into the fog.' Everyone is very respectful of each other's boundaries. … They're all very gentlemanly about it."

Although she carries a popular show and is clearly talented, having won an Academy Award at the age of 11 for her supporting role in "The Piano," Paquin says she, like many people, struggles with her image. "I'm my harshest critic … but at a certain point, you need to embrace who you are and the whole package that comes along with it," she says. "For me, it was cutting myself some slack and not trying to be something that I think is perfect or ideal."

And when it came to nabbing the role of Sookie, which she has played since 2008, it was convincing herself that she could do it — despite the role being a little sexier than what she was used to. "I'm a big believer in 'fake it to make it,'" she says. "I went out and bought some incredibly short shorts and a push-up bra that I knew were going to be a part of my new life. It's not that I'm a prude, but I'm not a massive exhibitionist, either."
