New mom Snooki ready to move on from ‘Jersey Shore’: ‘I have a family now’

When MTV announced that the upcoming sixth season of "Jersey Shore" would be its last, the news left many fans disappointed. But there's one person who was relieved: Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi. The new mom tells People in its latest issue — which she and baby Lorenzo Dominic grace the cover of — that the show's end is "bittersweet" because "my life has changed. I have a family now!"

Snooki, 24, was in her third trimester during filming of the sixth season this past summer in Seaside Heights, New Jersey, but she didn't live with the rest of the cast in the shore house. The reformed party girl and her fiancé Jionni LaValle lived apart from everyone else, and although it was for her own good, it was isolating at times.

"It was definitely a little lonely," Snooki admits. "Everyone was still going out and staying up late and I just wanted to go to bed at 8 o'clock. I didn't want to do everything that everyone else was doing."

Not surprisingly, motherhood has certainly shifted Snooki's priorities. Since welcoming baby Lorenzo on August 26 after 24 hours of labor, her only focus is her little meatball. "The partying is long gone," she insists. "I'm a new person."
