Fox, Green, and Noah. (FAMEFLYNET PICTURES)Brian Austin Green certainly knows the meaning of "happy wife, happy life." After he and Megan Fox welcomed their son, Noah Shannon, on September 27, the Hollywood couple really wanted to care for their newborn without the help of a nanny, but a lack of sleep has convinced them otherwise.
"Having an infant is difficult," Fox, 26, tells the U.K.'s Daily Mirror newspaper. "It's a lot of work and I didn't hire any help because I overestimated my own abilities. I had no idea how difficult babies could be, so Brian and I were exhausted. You never sleep and you're awake all night and your entire life is devoted to this little thing that needs you constantly." The "This is 40" actress adds that although becoming a mother is a dream she has had since she was a young girl, sleep deprivation is taking its toll. "Two weeks ago I said to Brian, 'We have to get a night nurse or we're going to get a divorce because somebody's got to sleep in this house or we're going to kill each other.'"
Now that she's a mom, Fox, who is well known for showing off her body in "Transformers" and "Jonah Hex" says sexy roles are a thing of the past. "I'm going to be more cautious about choosing films because I'm already thinking about when he's in school and his friends are going to be showing him my photo shoots with me in a bikini and he's going to be horrified," she explains. "So that will deter me from making some of the choices I made before."
Baby Noah has also changed his mother's rebellious ways. Fox is currently in the process of getting a tattoo of Marilyn Monroe removed from her arm because she doesn't like its negative connotation since the iconic actress died of a pill overdose. She says she and Green, 39, gave their son a biblical name after returning to religion. "I went through a stage in my early 20s when I was very rebellious against how I was raised and I wasn't worried about faith or religion but now, maybe because of getting married and wanting to have a family, I've come back full circle," says Fox.
Motherhood has also affected her desire to be a Hollywood sex symbol. "I only gained 23 pounds when I was pregnant and I'm still 10 pounds heavier than I was but I don't want to kill myself trying to get back into shape because it's not a priority right now," explains Fox. "I'm too in love with Noah and I don't want to be away from him. I don't want to be at the gym, I just want to be home."
