McConaughey Names Son Levi

Donato Sardella/WireImage.com It's hard to believe, but Matthew McConaughey, notorious for his naked bongo playing incident in 1999, became a first-time dad today when his model girlfriend Camila Alves gave birth to a bouncing baby boy. Although the actor had joked previously that he was planning to name his son Bud after his favorite beer (Budweiser), that fortunately did not happen. Unfortunately, Matthew's brother Rooster did name one of his kids Miller Lyte, but we'll save that one for another blog post!

Matthew revealed to OK! magazine that he and Camila have decided to call their little boy Levi Alves McConaughey because "Levi was another name for the apostle Matthew in The Bible" and "they were, in fact, two names for the same person." Wanting to incorporate Camila's family name, the couple selected Alves as the middle name.

For some reason, Levi kind of seems like the perfect name for McConaughey's kid.
