What kind of pregnancy fashions will Kendra Wilkinson dare to don?

With the recent announcement that former "Girl Next Door" Kendra Wilkinson and her NFL fiance, Hank Baskett, are having a baby, so many questions began swirling through our heads. Will the baby inherit mom's hyena-like laugh? Will the couple survive pregnancy and a reality show? And most importantly, what will Kendra's maternity clothes look like?
We imagine it will be a no-holds-barred wardrobe for the Playmate model and ex-Hef gal pal, so we can't wait to see what kinds of revealing outfits she dons while with child. And we hope she realizes that she has a long list of trendsetting women to thank for the freedom to wear sexy mom-to-be styles. So we present Kendra with this brief history of the daring ladies who have revolutionized celebrity maternity fashion through the years, as well as the shocking baby-bump blunders from even the most stylish of stars.
See Maternity Fashion Highs and Lows Through the Years
Lucille Ball
After a lot of heated debate with network execs and religious leaders, Lucille Ball became one of the first women to ever appear pregnant on a TV show. It was so taboo, in fact, that they couldn't say the word "pregnant" on-air. They had to say, "expecting" (or "spectin," as Desi would say to great laughter). The buttoned-up, boxy maternity fashions represented the repressed era very well.
Natalie Wood
The plunging neckline on Natalie Wood's 1970 maternity ball gown showed that these times were indeed a changin'. Cleavage, divorce, and extramarital affairs were all the rage. Wood left her cheating husband Richard Gregson a year after their child was born and ended up back with first husband Robert Wagner.
Princess Diana
We all remember Princess Diana as a style icon in glorious clothing by Versace and Chanel. But apparently none of the big-name designers had started doing maternity clothing in the '80s. This pink cotton housecoat is clearly not one of Di's trendsetting high points.
Annie Leibovitz's Demi Moore Portrait
In 1991 photographer Annie Leibovitz and a very pregnant Demi Moore did more for mothers-to-be than Pampers, Gerber, and Babies R Us combined: they made it OK to show off your pregnant belly. Of course, it helps if you look like Demi, but after this photo surfaced, woman began to proudly display their baby bumps, rather than hide them in shame, opening up a whole new world for maternity fashion.
Pamela Anderson
Pam Anderson might have taken Demi Moore's liberated pregnant look a little too far post-"Barb Wire" with her "I'm-married-to-Tommy-Lee" shockingly inappropriate prenatal pose.
Lisa Rinna
By the late '90s women were proudly displaying their tummies, often in skintight clothing. In a foreshadowing of things to come, Lisa Rinna donned this "Dancing With the Stars"-style sparkly, mesh number. Wonder if she mamboed back then to help lose the baby-weight?
Madonna
Madonna was definitely not striking a pose while carrying Rocco in 2000. She was showing us the merging of two mom-to-be trends: the old standby comfy clothes and the increasingly popular exposed midriff. In typical Madonna fashion the toned abs (and arms) were back in what seemed like mere days after his birth.
Sarah Jessica Parker
Sarah Jessica Parker helped usher in a new era in maternity looks: the skinny pregnant lady. You know the ones. Other than the bump, they don't appear to gain an ounce of weight anywhere else. Is SJP even carrying a child here? We had to look at this photo from a few angles to confirm, but SJP is in fact almost seven months along in this gorgeous Narciso Rodriguez dress, a fresh, feminine, and lean look for the "Sex and the City" star.
Kate Hudson
When in Venice ... do as the Venetians do. And Kate Hudson did it with flair at the 2003 Venice Film Festival. She took the exposed stomach trend one step further by bringing it to the red carpet. Most people couldnt carry this one off, but Kate looks stunning in her see-through Chanel outfit baring her four-month pregnant baby bump.
Debra Messing
In a fashion-backward move, Debra Messing arrived at the Golden Globes in a very high-collared, "Maude"-like maxi-coat over a drab black gown with so much volume that it was hard to decipher where the fabric ended and the baby began. Debra is typically known for her keen fashion sense, but she did NOT end up on a lot of best-dressed lists for this choice. Even she admitted later in interviews that it was not her most flattering look.
Debi Mazar
In 2005 Debi Mazar got the retro look right by mixing a touch of old Hollywood with a dash of glam-rock chic in this elegant but comfy maternity outfit she wore to the Glamour Reel Moments short-film series to see the premiere of her movie "Wait," directed by Trudie (Mrs. Sting) Styler.
Heidi Klum
Heidi Klum has been setting trends for decades, even in her pregnancies. We all waited with bated breath to see who she would be wearing at the 2006 Emmy Awards. Would one of her "Project Runway" costars dress the supermodel? Yes. But it wasn't a contestant's creation; it was an original Michael Kors. Sorry Santino! It's not often a maternity dress lands someone on a bunch of best-dressed lists, but no one was saying, "auf Wiedersehen" to Heidi that night.
Gwen Stefani
Recent years have seen a movement away from overexposed pregnant bellies and back toward a more refined look, but with a twist. At the 2006 Grammy Awards, nominee Gwen Stefani rocked the red carpet in a flowing leopard-print L.A.M.B. gown that graduated to green along the bottom. Not typically fans of the animal print, we did think this gown was gorgeous, as was Gwen. Mostly we were just relieved she didnt show up in lederhosen as an homage to her yodeling "Sound of Music"-inspired single, "Wind It Up." The suspenders look typically doesn't flatter a baby bump.
Angelina Jolie
When you're pregnant with twins, there really is only one fashion choice: comfort. And only Angelina Jolie can rock a caftan. If any one else had put this on, they'd look like a walking circus tent, but Angie looked ravishing at the Cannes Film Festival premiere of "Changeling" in her Reem Acra tunic with jeweled neckline.
Nicole Kidman
Nicole Kidman joins the list of contemporary celebrity moms celebrating the trend of sexy, sophisticated baby mama couture. She was absolutely radiant in the YSL strapless knee-length Grecian goddess dress she wore to the 43rd Annual Academy of Country Music Awards to support her hubby, Keith Urban, who was performing at the show.
