Whoa, baby! - Life & StyleIs it me, or does it seem as if Mariah Carey has been pregnant forever? Fortunately, her baby boy and girl are due to arrive in the next few weeks. (Contractions already sent her to the hospital on March 27!) "It's twins, so it can happen at any moment," noted her hubby Nick Cannon at the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards last weekend. "So we're prepared ... the bags are packed!"
Still, before welcoming her babies into the world, there's one final thing Mariah needs to do -- show her off pregnant bod in Life & Style magazine. While the 42-year-old diva wasn't shy about commemorating her pregnancy by posing nude with Cannon for a series of personal artsy photos (which Cannon now regrets -- "My children are going to have to see these pictures. It's a little weird"), she was a bit apprehensive about baring her belly for the mag just a few weeks before she's scheduled to give birth.
"I was feeling very vulnerable about taking pictures at all right now, but then I didn't want to miss this opportunity to document this once-in-a-lifetime experience," said Mariah. "My ultimate goal was to share this incredibly personal moment with my true fans."
Turns out, the L&S photo shoot ended up being an incredible experience for the twins as well. "The babies were kicking almost the entire time; it was unbelievable," laughed the mom-to-be. "Especially the girl -- clearly she's a diva in training! We didn't start shooting until 1:30 a.m. because I was in the hospital from the night before until the day of the shoot with contractions five minutes apart!"
Nick Cannon tells Life & Style he's more attracted to his wife than ever: "I thought I couldn’t love Mariah more, …
And with such active babies in the womb, Mariah has a whole new appreciation for moms in general. "Now I have so much respect for mothers everywhere, especially those who've had difficult pregnancies or given birth to multiples. We need to have Mother's Day once a week!"
