Liv Tyler’s Favorite Role Is Mom

Liv Tyleris no longer the pouty brunette who starred opposite Alicia Silverstone in herdad's music video for "Crazy" in 1994. Of course, she's still beautiful, but atage 30 Liv's priorities have shifted. After her son Milowas born in December 2004, Liv took a break from acting. Now she's back on thebig screen starring in the horror flick "The Strangers," as well as theupcoming "Incredible Hulk," which opens in theaters on June 13. While she'sthrilled to be a working actress, Liv's favorite role is undoubtedly being amother to her 3-year-old son Milo.

In thelatest issue of Cookie magazine (available on newsstands now), the actressopens up about motherhood and the superhuman stamina that parenting canrequire, as well as what she has learned from her own unconventional childhood.(If being the daughter of model Bebe Buell and Aerosmith's Steven Tyler wasn'twacky enough, until the age of 9 she believed that musician Todd Rundgren washer dad!) "I'm still working through my issues, which I always will be," sheconfesses to Cookie. Issues or not, they didn't stop Liv from realizing herdream of having a child.

"I justfeel so lucky and grateful to be a mother," she says. "I cherish every secondof everyday and try to be as present as I can for him … especially in thesereally formative young years." Right now Milois into role playing. "He'll wake up in the morning and say 'I'm Mommy andyou're Milo,'" she laughs, adding that her sonis "very thoughtful and observant and really amazing at expressing himself." Itsounds like Liv might have another actor on her hands!

But beforeMilo heads to Hollywood,the native New Yorker wants her little boy to experience life outside of thebig city. "I'd love for [Milo] to have petsand chickens to take care of," she notes. "And I want to give him all the toolsto be the best man he can be. For me, so much of that has to do with being innature and really using your hands when you're a kid."

Unfortunately,Liv recently separated from her husband of five years, British rocker RoystonLangdon, but the two "remain good friends and devoted parents to their son Milo."
