Kelsey Grammer, Wife Fail to Put Baby in Car Seat

Kelsey Grammer's wife Kayte has pulled a Britney Spears! No, she didn't shave all her hair off … she rode in a car with her 4-month-old daughter Faith sitting on her lap instead of properly securing the baby in a car seat. Spears famously sped down a Los Angeles highway with one hand on the wheel in February 2006 with then 4-month-old Sean Preston in the other arm — which caught the attention of Child Protective Services at the time — and Kayte, 31, did the same on Tuesday (except she was in the back seat) when the family headed home after arriving at LAX, as seen in a video posted on TMZ.

Although Kelsey's rep, Stan Rosenfield, maintains there was a car seat in the chauffeured vehicle, there doesn't appear to be one. In fact, as Kayte sits on the passenger side, Kelsey can be seen placing her purse on the driver's side seat next to her — before handing his wife a cup of coffee and shutting her door. As the car pulls away from the curb, Faith can be seen through the window still sitting on her mother's lap.

But Rosenfield insists to omg!, "The video tape being circulated was edited and did not show that the Grammer's leaving the airport with their baby securely in the baby car seat."

This is the second time in the past month that the couple's parenting skills have been questioned. On Halloween, they brought their infant daughter to a late-night bash at the Playboy mansion because, as Kelsey, 57, explained to omg! in a statement, "Kayte is still breast-feeding and we do not have a nanny." In a photo TMZ posted from the party, little Faith is asleep in her car seat, which is surrounded by half-empty plastic cups (presumably filled with alcohol), with an unidentified woman who is not her mother sitting next to her with a drink in hand.

The Grammers are also reeling from financial troubles. Since Kelsey's STARZ show, "Boss," was cancelled earlier this month, he's apparently tightening up the purse strings and the easiest way to do that is to move into the 10,000-square-foot Beverly Hills home he bought with his ex-wife, "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star Camille, even though they had placed it on the market to sell. According to TMZ, Camille has tried to stop Kelsey from doing so since she's already paying half the mortgage on the house (the total monthly cost for the residence is $48,130), but a judge has rejected her request.

Do you think Kelsey and Kayte were wrong not to put Faith in a car seat?
