Katherine Heigl and daughter Adalaide (SWAP/Splash News)It was up, up, and away for Katherine Heigl and her daughter, Adalaide, over the weekend.
The 34-year-old actress arrived for her flight at Los Angeles International Airport on Sunday with a cute carry-on item: The daughter she and her husband, musician Josh Kelley, adopted in April. The former "Grey's Anatomy" star was dressed casually in jeans for her day of travel and kept adorable Adalaide close (and cozy!) in a front baby carrier. The little girl — who has just a hint of hair — kept a firm grip on her famous mom, clutching Heigl's top with her small fist.
The twosome was headed to Salt Lake City, which has become the Heigl-Kelley family home base in recent years. In 2010, the "Only You" singer talked about moving their family — which also includes 3-year-old Naleigh, whom they adopted from South Korea — to Utah full-time. "It was a dream of Katie's [to move there] for years," Kelley told Us Weekly. "We got married out there and I just fell in love with it. It's amazing and one of my favorite places in the world. ... We live up in the mountains in Utah now. Katie rides horses. I do a lot of fishing and golfing. It's a lot of fun."
And being there certainly puts Heigl at ease. In October, when she touched down in the Beehive State, she tweeted, "Back in Utah after a busy week in LA. So happy to be home!"
But just because the family lives primarily in Utah doesn't mean they don't have digs in Los Angeles. Last week we reported that Heigl put her 3,690-square-foot Los Feliz area home on the market for $2.659 million. She purchased the house shortly after getting married in 2007. "Katie put a lot of money in the house and it's in beautiful condition," listing agent Dorothy Carter of Keller Williams Realty told omg!. "It's private and gated with a beautiful pool and would be perfect either as an entertaining house for a couple or as a family home."
The home is also where Heigl's memorable hot tub incident took place. In 2010, she became involved in a spat with one of her neighbors who thought she and Kelley were too loud while taking a steamy dip in their yard. When the neighbor started screaming obscenities at them from over the fence, Heigl called the police, and she was later photographed talking to authorities in a barely there bikini. The photo was widely circulated and received lots of attention, prompting Heigl to later joke about the incident on Ryan Seacrest's radio show. "We are the most boring couple in Hollywood and (this is) the most scandalous thing we've ever done," she laughed.
Now that they're living in the mountains of Utah, they probably don't have any neighbors breathing down their necks. But with two girls under the age of three, we doubt that they have much time for hot tubbing anyway!
