New Mom Jessica Simpson: ‘Oh My God, What Happened to My Body?’

On Wednesday morning, Jessica Simpson introduced her darling, chubby-cheeked little beauty, Maxwell Drew Johnson, to the world in a photo spread in the new issue of People. In the accompanying interview, she talks about how breast-feeding has become "a full-on job" and the bliss she's found as a mom ("When she looks at me, my heart melts"). Known for her candidness, Simpson, 31, was forthcoming about her weight gain throughout her pregnancy — when she posed nude for the April issue of Elle, she told the fashion mag that she weighed 170 pounds — and she continues to be, detailing her post-baby slim down plan to People, which isn't as over-the-top as other celebrity moms before her.

Simpson gave birth to Maxi via C-section two weeks before her due date, so, per doctor's orders, she isn't allowed to exercise for the time being. But when she gets the green light, the "Fashion Star" mentor is eager to get started. "After you have your baby it's like, 'Oh my God, what happened to my body?' This is not me," Jessica tells People. So, as previously reported, she's partnered with Weight Watchers to help her shed the extra pounds. "It would be nice to feel comfortable in a bikini, but that's not my goal," says Jessica, who has been juicing and eating lots of veggies and proteins. "I just want to fit into jeans!" Not surprisingly, motherhood has completely changed her priorities. "I'm less concerned about how my hair looks or if my gut is showing," she notes.

One motivation for losing weight is her upcoming wedding to Eric Johnson. Engaged since November 2010, they put their wedding plans on hold when Simpson became pregnant. While she "can't wait" to marry the 32-year-old former NFL player, it is important to her "to feel really great in a wedding dress," she tells the celeb magazine. When she finally does walk down the aisle ("I'd love to do it before the end of this year, but you just never know"), she says she plans to be carrying Maxi in her arms.

While Simpson is looking forward to expanding her family down the line ("Having back-to-back has to be so hard, but I won't wait too long"), Maxi is her focus. "She's my career at the moment," notes the singer. "I know I was always meant to be a mom, and I think I'm doing a really good job."
