In addition to the high-end items the new mom received at her fancy, Charlotte's Web-themed baby shower in March, Jessica also received presents at the Los Angeles hospital where she gave birth to daughter Maxwell Drew Johnson yesterday.
Among the gift givers was her first husband, Nick Lachey, and his new wife, Vanessa Minnillo, reports HollywoodLife.com. "A large basket of pink and white cookies were delivered to Jessica's hospital room at Cedars-Sinai from Nick and Vanessa," a source told the website. "The basket was delivered by Cookies by Design and included seven huge cookies with adorable baby girl decorations." It was nearly a decade ago that Lachey and Jessica themselves were "Newlyweds." They divorced just three years later and he married Minnillo in 2011. Nick and Vanessa are expecting their first child this fall.
Jessica's father, Joe Simpson, also brought a little something along when he arrived at the hospital to meet his first granddaughter. According to Us Weekly, Joe was seen picking out a giant pink stuffed bear for little Maxwell at the hospital gift shop. "He was really happy and told us the gift was for his new granddaughter," an insider told the magazine. "He revealed both baby and mom were doing well." The plush present set him back $80.
Of course baby Maxwell already got a full wardrobe and other goodies thanks to the shower. New aunt Ashlee Simpson told People she bought the baby a Fendi dress with a matching garment bag. In a video of the shower Jessica posted to her website, she was seen opening a box with pink cowboy boots and a blinged out pacifier. Pal Jessica Alba also gifted her with an array of items from her eco-friendly line The Honest Company, including patterned diapers. A baby registry at Bel-Bambini that was thought to be Jessica's included requests from a $400 crib to a $360 cashmere blanket.
Although the baby is going to be living a high-fashion life from an early age, Jessica — who has a billion-dollar fashion empire — worries her little girl is not going to be a clothes horse like her mom. "I swear, I will croak if she asks me for a pair of Nikes instead of Christian Louboutins!" Jessica told Elle recently."Eric is so athletic — we're gonna have this athletic girl and I won't even be able to take her shopping, 'cause all she's gonna want is sports bras and Nikes!"
After what seemed like one of the longest pregnancies in history, Jessica gave birth to Maxwell Drew in the lap of luxury yesterday. As we previously detailed, the star delivered her nearly 10-pound baby girl in a fancy $3,784-a-night three-room, two-bath suite at Cedars-Sinai. Amenities included a flat-screen TV and DVD player, stereo, refrigerator stocked with bottled water and juice, baskets of fresh fruit and muffins, hotel-style robes, salon services, and gourmet meals made-to-order.
Sounds like little Maxwell is already living the dream!
