Paltrow and Apple in L.A. (Sharma/ Bruja/PacificCoastNews.com)Look — Gwyneth Paltrow is walking!
Just days after making headlines for having a chauffeur drive her four doors down the street (a 10-second ride), the actress and her 7-year-old daughter, Apple Martin, pounded the pavement during a shopping excursion Thursday. The actress and her look-alike offspring visited a handful of stores in West Hollywood, including Maxfield boutique. Looks like their mission was successful as Paltrow, 39, carried a bag full of goodies out of the store.
It was a white pants kind of day for Paltrow and Apple, though the star's outfit was certainly more glam than her play-clothes-wearing daughter. The celebrity had on an eye-catching shimmery blue zip-up jacket and beige gladiator sandals. Though Apple was dressed casually, her mom told Harper's Bazaar, "I got a very clothes-obsessed child ... She doesn't like anything avant-garde at all. She likes anything that's pretty, pretty, pretty or has a bow or a ruffle or is pink." The blondes stuck together holding hands on the way to their car.
Earlier this week it was reported that Paltrow, who is known for her over-the-top exercise regime (she famously told Oprah that works out for two hours a day, six days a week), insisted on a chauffeured ride from an event at Stella McCartney's West Hollywood boutique to dinner a stone's throw away at celeb fave Madeo. While the rest of the guests, including her own husband, Chris Martin, and 74-year-old Jane Fonda, walked, Paltrow refused. Her rep later said she insisted on being driven to prevent paparazzi from photographing her with Martin.
Paltrow will have to get used to attention from photographers. In just two weeks, she'll be back on the big screen in her latest movie, "The Avengers." She's reprising the role of Pepper Potts, love interest of Robert Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark/Iron Man, in the star-studded comic book flick which hits theaters on May 4.
