Denise Richards: Sheen ‘Makes Me Sad’

Denise Richards says she and her ex-hubby, Charlie Sheen, are not "in the best place right now." - Carmen Valdes/Ron …On last night's episode of Bravo's "Watch What Happens Live," Denise Richards thought she was simply going to be discussing another juicy episode of one of her favorite shows, "The Real Housewives of New York City." But, of course, host Andy Cohen wouldn't be doing his job if he didn't grill Richards a little bit about her ex-husband, Charlie Sheen.

When asked what she thinks of Sheen's "Torpedo of Truth" tour, in which he reportedly bad mouths the mother of his two daughters, Sam, 7, and Lola, 5, Richards replied, "It's very sad for me to see him on this path. I heard he's chosen to use me in part of his tour, and that's hurtful, but that's his choice ... I just think there are places you shouldn't go."

While the former couple had been on fairly good terms -- even after Sheen trashed his room at The Plaza Hotel last October while on vacation with Richards and their girls in NYC -- Denise revealed, "We're not in the best place right now, to be honest with you, but I do still communicate with him."

And she clearly wants the best for her ex -- and his 2-year-old twins, Bob and Max, with estranged wife Brooke Mueller. "I've put it out there several times over the last couple years, that if they need help, I'm here," shared the actress. "I wasn't asking for custody or anything like that. I would love the boys to stay and be with the girls."

Not surprisingly, Richards isn't too keen on having Sheen's "goddesses," Natalie Kenley and Rachel Oberlin (aka adult film star Bree Olsen), around her daughters. Although Denise has met Charlie's, er, roommates, her little girls have not. "This is his lifestyle and I've accepted it," she said. "There [are] things that I don't think are the most appropriate for two young impressionable daughters."

As for Sheen's sobriety, Denise noted, "I don't know if he's sober or not." What she does know? "It makes me sad to see him [go from being] on a very wonderful, well-written hugely popular show to going down this path ..."
