Could Adele be due to give birth in just two months?

Has songstress Adele been hiding her pregnancy for a whopping seven months? If you believe a new report, then yep, she sure has.

Though the Grammy-winning singer just announced she was pregnant with her first child less than two weeks ago, a British gossip site called HeatWorld.com is citing an "insider" who says that the 24-year-old is actually due to give birth in September, and has been keeping a very big secret since the beginning of the year.

"Adele has barely left the house in recent months, so she could keep this to herself for as long as possible," the source told the site. "She stopped exercising a few months ago, and since then it's been all about the baby."

There's no way (yet) to know if the pregnancy timeline is correct or not, but indeed, Adele sat out May's Billboard Music Awards (when she was most likely pregnant for sure, considering it was less than two months ago). But if the report that she's actually due to give birth in two months is true, it means that not only was the "Rolling in the Deep" singer expecting when she collected her gazillion Grammys in February, but also when she came under attack by designer Karl Lagerfeld for being "a little fat."

"I've never wanted to look like models on the cover of magazines," she told People magazine after the Lagerfeld hubbub. "I represent the majority of women and I'm very proud of that."

With a fuller figure (especially by showbiz standards), keeping a baby bump under wraps for this long could be easier for Adele than, say, a too-skinny star like Angelina Jolie. But no matter their body type, most women in the public eye — from Beyonce to Jessica Simpson to Jennifer Garner — have to come clean by their fourth or fifth month, sometimes even earlier (as in the case of Jessica Simpson, who announced her news right around the three-month mark). Back in April, Adele donned a trench coat to a soccer game she attended with her boyfriend and the father of her child, 37-year-old Simon Konecki, and in May wore a shapeless muumuu-esque frock when she was honored at the Ivor Novello Awards — which celebrate British songwriters — but didn't kick up any speculation either time.

The singer hasn't commented on her due date, only posting the following statement to her website on June 29: "I'm delighted to announce that Simon and I are expecting our first child together. I wanted you to hear the news direct from me, obviously we're over the moon and very excited but please respect our privacy at this precious time. Yours always, Adele xx."

So for now, all we can safely say about the super-soon due date is: Rumour has it …
