The one-time child star, who is now pursuing a career as a country music singer, and her husband, Brad Bratcher, welcomed a daughter named Gray Audrey in Nashville on Monday. The little girl, who was delivered three weeks before her due date via C-section, weighed in at 7 lbs., 6 oz. and measured 18 inches long.
"Brad and I are, of course, ecstatic she's here and we are madly in love with her already," von Oy, 35, told People. "It's truly unimaginable how quickly she wrapped us around her little finger! We are exhausted by enjoying every moment of it, as every moment she's doing something new and memorable."
As for the baby name Gray, it's very uncommon, not appearing on any of the popular baby names lists. However, color names — Scarlett, Ruby, and Violet — are all the rage right now, which Beyonce and Jay-Z, parents of Blue Ivy, can attest to.
"Parents of girls are starting to turn to color names for creative ideas that sound gently androgynous," baby name expert Laura Wattenberg, who runs the website BabyNameWizard.com, tells omg!. "Names like Gray have been mostly male in the past, but so rare that it doesn't feel like you're "stealing" a boy's name. Plus light, one-syllable names for girls are always in demand."

New mom von Oy told People the reason behind the name selection was simple. "We were just so drawn to it; we knew early on that it was the right one."

The 36-year-old actress, who has a recurring role in "The Big Bang Theory," recently appeared on "Anderson" to discuss the hot topic, describing it as "the way mammals parent, the way primates parent, and pretty much all of human history it's the way people parented."

She told show host Anderson Cooper that her sons, Miles, 6, and Frederick, 3, will likely share a bed with her and her husband until they are between 5 and 7 years old. "We have two beds on the floor next to each other," said Bialik, who authored the book Beyond the Sling: A Real-Life Guide to Raising Confident, Loving Children the Attachment Parenting Way. "And honestly, there is a natural desire for independence at night that does come. Most adults, you know, do not want to sleep alone — it's not normal. It is normal to be close to someone who loves you at night. There's nothing weird about it."
No word on whether von Oy will follow in her co-star's footsteps.
