The next day Beyonce took her daughter for a solo stroll. (Doug Meszler/Splash News)For Beyonce and Jay-Z fans, it's been all about the musical power couple's baby daughter Blue Ivy lately. The bundle of joy has been making headlines since the moment she came into the world on January 7. First the media couldn't get enough of the fact that her parents paid to combine multiple hospital rooms into one luxurious private birthing suite (and that new parents were voicing complaints over being bothered by the couple's security team inside the maternity ward). Then came baby's first photos -- released on a blog set up by Mr. and Mrs. Carter -- featuring the adorable newborn (with a pretty full head of hair) in the arms of mom and dad. And, now, finally, the moment we've been waiting for -- little Miss Blue makes her first public appearance at 7 weeks old.
The infant accompanied Beyonce and Jay-Z to Italian eatery Ristorante Sant Ambroeus in Manhattan's West Village on Saturday afternoon, as the family bundled up in winter jackets and wrapped the baby in a black blanket on the way in and out of the restaurant. Though the lunch menu includes such sophisticated fare such as handmade spaghetti with crab meat and saffron and a $38 filet mignon with a blue cheese sauce, we're going to assume Blue Ivy passed and just left the eating to her parents.
The following day the 30-year-old new mom -- donning the same jacket, hat, glasses, and nails painted blue in honor of her offspring -- went for a solo outing with her little one, and this time carted her around in a stylish Baby Bjorn. OK, so no one could actually catch a glimpse of Blue Ivy during these first news-making "appearances," but there's plenty of time for that ... Beyonce and Jay-Z will be making school runs before you know it.
