Red Hot Chili Peppers lead singer Anthony Kiedis hops behind the wheel with son Everly. PacificCoastNews.com Anthony Kiedis clearly needs a lesson in child safety. The Red Hot Chili Peppers frontman was photographed leaving a Los Angeles supermarket with his adorable 8-month-old son Everly harnessed in a Baby Bjorn. While that may be a great way to shop with an infant, Kiedis apparently doesn't know that it's not intended to be used as a child restraint in the car ... no matter how short the drive.

Kiedis and his baby boy exit a Los Angeles supermarket. PacificCoastNews.com After grocery shopping, the singer hopped into his doorless electric vehicle without securing his baby boy in the recommended rear-facing car seat. (It looks like Kiedis didn't even restrain himself with a seatbelt!) Although I give the rocker props for driving an eco-friendly "car," his son's safety should come first. Kiedis' vehicle may not be able to exceed 25 mph, but the enormous SUVs that all Angelenos have to share the road with sure can.

  • I wonder what the side impact safety value is on this thing? I am seeing these types of electric cars more and more in Florida. You can expect to see the death toll rise as more of these things hit the road. Any vehicle that does 25mph or under has no safety standards and it = higher death rate.

  • In America that is not considered a car under the law. Since it can not go over 25mph it is not subject to the same safety standards as a automobile. It is also not required that children are put in child seats. If that thing ever got hit by a car it would be destroyed and no amount of restraints would stop that.

Celebs clearly think that they can do whatever they want & they get a slap on the wrist for it. They go out drunk driving, they put their babies on their laps while driving a vehicle, they don't put their kids in a proper car seat AND the list goes on & on. They should get a slap in the face and do the time. Do the crime, do the time. should be the same for every one whet

for all those who are saying that people have survived without car seats and that you are not sure what the big idea is, tell that to the families of millions of children who were MURDERED by not being in a car seat. You people would be the first to condemn him if this story was about this child being killed in an accident. I sure hope you people do not have children! If you do you shouldn
