(Getty Images)Adele's next album could be filled with sweet lullabies! The British songstress shared the happy news that she and her boyfriend, Simon Konecki, are starting a family.
"I'm delighted to announce that Simon and I are expecting our first child together," the 24-year-old singer wrote on her official website on Friday. "I wanted you to hear the news direct from me. Obviously, we're over the moon and very excited, but please respect our privacy at this precious time."
It's been an exciting year for the singing sensation. In January, she won six Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year, for 21. It was the most Grammys ever won by a female artist in one night. Konecki, a 36-year-old former financier who co-founded the U.K. bottled water company Life Water, was by her side for the career milestone.
A month earlier, Adele took her blog to address rumors about her relationship with Konecki, which began last summer, following a tabloid report that he was married. "Contrary to reports and headlines in the press today, Simon is divorced and has been for 4 years," she wrote at the time. "Everyone in our lives separately and together wish us nothing but the best, and vice versa. These are the facts."

The singer, whose first two albums were filled with songs about heartbreak, opened up about finding love — as well as the impact it will have on her music going forward — in an interview with "60 Minutes" earlier this year. "I'm madly in love so I don't want to be like, 'Babe I'm sorry we've got to break up, I've got a new album to deliver,'" she said. Besides, she noted, "I can't write another break-up record, that would be a real cliché. It would just be like a boring running theme. People would be like, 'I've had enough, now cheer up.'"
While this is the first child for Adele, Konecki has a young daughter from his marriage to stylist Clary Fisher. And it seems that more kids will be in their future as the singer has said she wants to have three sons by the time she's 30. "I really want to be a mum," Adele told People in February.
