Best known for her role as middle daughter Lucy Camden on "7th Heaven," the actress announced her pregnancy Monday on WhoSay. "We are so thrilled to becoming parents," wrote Mitchell, who married her husband, accountant Michael Cameron, in 2008. "It couldn't be a more exciting time! Thank you for all the well wishes!"

The 31-year-old, who is also a country music singer, said she first noticed something different happening with her body four months ago when she suddenly developed a keen sense of smell, which is common during pregnancy. "My sense of smell was off the charts, to the point where I could smell a kid's dirty diaper from the other side of a restaurant," Mitchell told People. After taking nearly 10 different pregnancy tests, the news finally sunk in that she was expecting. "I took seven pregnancy tests," she told the magazine. "I went to the doctor and had two more tests and they were like, 'Bev, usually when the first one comes out positive, the rest of them will all say the same thing.'"

The mom-to-be couldn't wait to share her baby news with her best friend Jessica Biel, whom she has remained close with since their "7th Heaven" days. In fact, Mitchell was one of the few Hollywood stars invited to Biel and Justin Timberlake's lavish wedding in southern Italy last month. Mitchell told People she "started crying" when she told Biel she was pregnant, noting, "It was really exciting to share that with Auntie Jess." As for Biel's wedding, Mitchell — who also married in Italy — shared, "I'm just absolutely thrilled to see my best friend marry her best friend."
Mitchell's special delivery is expected to arrive in April.
