British boy band One Direction continued their world domination Tuesday as their performance on "Today" drew the largest crowd that the 60-year-old show has ever seen! An estimated 15,000 fans gathered at Rockefeller Plaza in NYC on Tuesday as Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Harry Styles, Liam Payne, and Louis Tomlinson hit the stage on the same day that they released their second album, Take Me Home.

One Directioners camped out for up to five days for a chance to hear the guys rock out to "Live While We're Young" and other tracks, but most importantly just to breathe the same air as the fab five. Sigh. Some of the fans camping out held signs with cute sayings, such as "Be My Last First Kiss," in reference to the guys' song "Last First Kiss," and with "Take Us With You!" scrawled on a drawing of the British flag.
The band's concert came along with a surprise announcement: like Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, and others, they will star in a 3-D movie that will show the One Direction guys both on and off the stage. Morgan Spurlock, the director of the documentary "Super Size Me," will direct the flick, which is set to hit theaters on August 30.

Payne, 19, explained the project in backstage video from "Today." "I think [it'll give fans] just like an up close view of us personally on the road and what we get up to, what we're really like, because I think the fans know us to a certain extent, but I think [this will show] the behind the scenes and what really goes on."
Styles, 18, promised that 1D's first foray into film will be entertaining. "We don't want to do like another typical concert movie," Styles said. "We really want to do a deep, behind-the-scenes, warts-and-all look — without the warts."
