"Hannah Montana" fans know Mitchel Musso is more than just the shaggy-haired actor who plays Oliver on the show -- he's also a singer who's been known to rock out on the Disney Channel smash. Now the rest of the world is going to find out too.
On June 2, the multitalented 17-year-old dropped his self-titled debut album, full of radio-ready pop rock like his latest single, the head-bobbing farewell song "Hey," which features an ultra-catchy shout-along chorus. It's not hard to imagine Mitchel following in the footsteps of his brother Mason, frontman of the successful rock band Metro Station, who scored a Top 10 hit with the song "Shake It."
Mitchel found some time in his busy schedule to talk to omg! about his new disc, his big bro's musical advice, the future of "Hannah Montana," and, naturally, girls! (Hey, he is a 17-year-old boy, after all.) Check out the entire interview below:
You've got a variety of performers, producers and songwriters involved in your record, and there's a real diverse selection of material on there. How did you take such a collaborative effort and make it your own?
You mentioned that one of the things you sing about is girls. Is it hard to find time for a relationship when you're already juggling acting and music?
What sort of musical guidance did you get from your older brother, Mason?
"Hannah Montana" was just renewed, and the show's producers are talking about trying some new things in season four. What sort of changes would you like to see?
