Miley Cyrus Steps Out in Mom Jeans (Again)

For the second time in three weeks, the 19-year-old sported a high-waisted, stonewashed pair of cropped jeans -- this time under an oversized red blazer and a sexy black bustier. (You'll recall that the last time she was spotted in the '80s-inspired pants, the actress/singer opted for a red cropped top while lunching with boyfriend Liam Hemsworth.) Miley even had a slight wardrobe malfunction moment when she stepped out of her car with her denim undone. Whoops!

The former "Hannah Montana," who was criticized for her retro look before, has made it clear that she doesn't really care about the haters out there. Miley's choice of clothing is based entirely on what's most comfortable. "I don't really have a style -- I'm just me. My style is kinda whatever I feel like wearing," she has said. "A lot of girls feel like they need to wear what everyone else is wearing. But it's good to have your own trend. People will start following it!"

While it's good to hear Miley's happy with her wardrobe choices, I sincerely hope jeans like hers don't become the next big trend!

I wish you could just go into any store and by "mom pants" ( I absolutely hate the way they coin stupid phrases like this) and just buy a regular pair of jeans that are high topped, not pegged, just classic look jeans. Did you ever notice how men's jeans are haven't changed forever. I mean...they can get whatever style is current....BUT they can also get a pair of Jeans that are classic old fashioned jeans if they want it. When women shop for jeans, we are stuck with whatever is currently in fashion...take it or leave it.

  Seems like jeans have never been cut to fit me well, regardless of the style.
  Only after I could no longer buy those I was accustomed to, did I break down and start wearing the ridiculous ultra-low rise, flare/boot cut leg jeans. By doing so, I only traded the "crawl up my crack and pinch my waist" type for the "muffin top" issue with the current styles. :)

I am a Mom and an 80's kid and I will never wear those jeans again, however, I think that Miley can and should wear whatever the hell she wants to wear and actually I think she looks cute. With that said, there is no wonder that bullying is such an issue in today's school when tabloid writers and the internet in general bully (make fun of) anyone who's anyone who decides to step outside of the norm. Miley is right "haters are gonna hate."

I can't stand low-rise jeans, they look horrible on me! I've had to go to thrift stores to find jeans that actually fit AT the waist. I've even gone into the men's department in my local thrift store to find pants that aren't low-rise, because even the thrift shops have low-risers in the women's department. Butt cracks are NOT attractive, and whoever thought that was trendy should be shot.

I am sick of the reference to "Mom Jeans". Low waist jeans are uncomfortable and are hard to keep up. Miley looks fabulous and I would not call those "Mom Jeans."

I would love some candid shots of the people who write these stupid 'news flashes'! Compared to a lot of people, she looks just fine. At least her body is decently covered! Now days just about anything goes. I think someone just has it in for Miley, whereas when Pitt and Jolie are photographed, it doesn't matter what they are wearing, they are just the "cat's meow"! I have never heard a negative word about either of them and his hair is in constant need of a washing, ugh!

whoever decided to call "high waisted" jeans "mom jeans" is ridiculous. It beats the low rise jeans, showing your butt and g-string underwear. I say Go Miley - change the trend back to comfortable, sensible jeans.

I find it terribly interesting that the media pushes low waisted jeans! All you can buy in the store is low waisted jeans (which don't look good on very many people). I found a pair of jeans that were regular waisted and I have never been happier. BTW my daughter is 15 and she LOVES high waisted pants and they look good on her!
