Jaden and Willow Smith’s Red Carpet Style

If you've been keeping tabs on the red carpet report cards coming in from around the world -- or is that just me? -- "The Karate Kid" star Jaden Smith and his kid sister Willow have been consistently knocking them out of the park when it comes to their steezy red carpet outfits.

Over the past few months, the two pre-teens have stolen the spotlight from pretty much everyone around them, including their movie star parents, Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith. Jaden's custom-made jackets -- from his Michael Jackson "Thriller"-inspired red and black, to his studded gray letterman, and that cream spiked number -- are covetable for kids of any age.

Jaden's little sister Willow's flair for fun fashion is adorable. Who else would have the moxie to pull off an all-tartan outfit at "The Karate Kid's" Berlin premiere, followed by Union Jack pants, Converse, and a denim vest in London? No one but a super confident 9-year-old who treats every red carpet event as an adventure.

When I first saw Willow's Mohawk, I groaned, thinking that she was just another kid with a pair of shears, an easygoing parent, and a bad case of "Rihanna adoration." Now that I've seen it styled multiple ways, it's really beginning to grow on me. And as much as I love Jaden's cornrows, his voluminous 'fro is the best thing since the Jackson 5's stylish '70s 'dos! As for the 12-year-old's obsession with wearing sunglasses under the 'fro? Well, I'm still working through that one.

Looking at their artistic style choices, I'm dying to know if these mini fashion plates have a dedicated stylist, or if they choose their outfits all by themselves. If that's the case, The Smith kids should start a side business as stylists to Hollywood's famous little people. Imagine Maddox Jolie-Pitt rocking a J.W.S. (Jaden Willow Smith, my extremely original idea for a brand name) jacket and jeans? Or Lourdes Leon donning one of Willow's brass-buttoned band jackets to her next uber-trendy event? I know Justin Bieber already wants to roll Jaden for his high tops!

Putting aside their eclectic, but totally age-appropriate style steez for just a moment, Jaden and Willow actually seem like intelligent, semi-well grounded children. Jaden copped some flack for giving David Letterman serious 12-year-old sass when he was a guest on "Late Show" back in June, but what was most noticeable was his charisma. Sure, he landed his first film roles courtesy of his power player dad, but there's no denying he has talent to spare. Would we begrudge past recipients of nepotism -- Miley Cyrus, Kate Hudson, Angelina Jolie, Michael Douglas, Jamie Lee Curtis, just to name a few -- their moments in the sun? Well, maybe we would deny a few of them screen time if we had the chance...

Only time will tell if Jaden has what it takes to succeed in Hollywood, but with his combination of talent, looks and original style, he's already got a good head start on the competition.
