Hayden Panettiere is looking for real-life "Heroes." Socialvibe.com Hayden Panettiere may play an invincible cheerleader on "Heroes," but the 19-year-old actress/activist risked life and limb last October when she paddled out to a cove in Taiji, Wakamaya, Japan to protest the hunting of dolphins. The incident was all over the press, and helped raise public awareness about the dolphins' plight.

Now, one year later, Hayden is looking to turn awareness into action. She's partnered with Socialvibe in efforts to raise funds for The Whaleman Foundation, an organization dedicated to protecting dolphins, whales, and their ocean habitat.

Supporters can go to Socialvibe, a website that allows people to influence the online world by adding Socialvibe badges to their social networking pages and blogs. They can also sign an exclusive online petition calling for the protection of the sea creatures. Hayden's goal is to get one million signatures on the petition, which she will personally deliver to the International Whaling Commission next June.

Hayden's not the only young celebrity with a cause. See how Hollywood's next generation is giving back:

Hilary Duff recented promoted Blessings in a Backpack, a program that gives backpacks filled with food to low income students so they can eat on the weekend.

Miley Cyrus donated the proceeds from her Sweet 16 ticket sales to Youth Service America, a national resource center that partners young (aged 5-25) volunteers with organizations.

Selena Gomez was just named the youth coalition chair for the Amberwatch Foundation, which is dedicated to the prevention of child abduction and molestation.

The Jonas Brothers have their own charity, the Change for the Children Foundation, which supports five different organizations, including the American Diabetes Association's Summer Camp. (Nick Jonas is diabetic)
