First Lady Michelle Obama to Appear On ‘iCarly’

Whatever your politics, you have to admit that first lady Michelle Obama is cool. Not only has she danced the "Dougie" at a school and hula-hooped on the White House lawn, but now she's guest-starring on an episode of the Nickelodeon show "iCarly"! And, of course, she took the opportunity to bust a move in a segment called "Random Dancing."

The rest of Obama's time on the tween show was more serious. The premise of "iMeet the First Lady" is that Carly (Miranda Cogrove) is upset when she learns her dad, a colonel in the Air Force stationed overseas, has been deployed again, just when he was supposed to be coming home. So Carly's friends decide to set up a live feed of the "iCarly" webcast for her dad, which Mrs. Obama -- playing herself -- happens to catch. Moved by what the gang has done, the first lady surprises Carly with a visit.

Behind the scenes, Cosgrove confessed that although Obama was approachable and "a nice, pretty normal person," she still intimidated her. "I've been doing the show for a long time and I usually don't get nervous, but having the first lady on the set, I was really nervous," she told the Associated Press. But Cosgrove needn't have worried. Turns out, Obama and her two daughters, Malia, 13, and Sasha, 10, are big fans of her show!
