In the new ABC Family series "Baby Daddy," we see Jean-Luc Bilodeau's character Ben struggling (hilariously) to take care of a baby that an ex-girlfriend has left on his doorstep. And the actor, who also starred alongside Miley Cyrus in the movie "LOL" and on the ABC Family's series "Kyle XY," said that's not much different than what happened in real life when he met the young twins who take turns playing his daughter in the sitcom. "First day on-set was the first day I ever had to chill with a baby," Bilodeau, 21, told omg!. "I have no younger nieces or nephews at all. I have no younger cousins... But definitely the first episode wasn't fake at all. My anxiousness and nervousness about holding the baby was totally real."
Another cast member, Tahj Mowry, the younger brother of "Tia & Tamera" twins Tia and Tamera Mowry, had a much easier time. After all, his sister Tia's son Cree turns 1 this month. (Tamera is expecting her own baby boy on October 30.) "Ask anyone in our cast, who is best with a baby? And they'll all say me," Mowry, 26, explained with a laugh. "No, I'm actually really good with babies. I always have been, though. Babies have always liked me. I guess it's because I'm not afraid to make stupid faces or anything. And I'm like a big kid myself." Mowry plays Ben's friend and roommate Tucker, who he describes as stylish and funny with "no filter." The guys are often a trio, hanging out with Ben's older brother, played by "90210" actor Derek Theler. The gals on the show are Chelsea Kane ("Dancing With the Stars," "Jonas LA"), who plays Ben's friend since childhood, and Melissa Peterman ("Reba"), who plays Ben's mom.
Complicating things is the fact that Kane's character secretly has a crush on Ben, while Ben's brother is actually the one with the crush on her. "There's a lot of miscommunication and fear of ruining friendship," admits Kane, who's been romantically linked to "Laguna Beach's" Stephen Colletti. So would Kane, 23, ever profess her love for a friend? "I know for me, it's just way too hard to go through life not telling someone how you feel. [But] I think sometimes it's scary, it's like, I would rather have that friend ... who knows me better than anyone, so I think it's a tough situation. It's what every great love story is all about."
