Miley Cyrus needs to make peace with the Asian community by issuing a real apology. - INFphoto.comMiley Cyrus issued a statement Thursday regarding a photo (click here to see it) of her and her friends making "slant-eyes" -- a gesture considered derogatory by many Asians.

On her official website, the 16-year-old wrote: "I've also been told there are some people upset about some pictures taken of me with friends making goofy faces! Well, I'm sorry if those people looked at those pics and took them wrong and out of context!" She added, "In NO way was I making fun of any ethnicity!"

The Organization of Chinese Americans (OCA) doesn't think she's sincere. The civil group, who initially called upon Miley to apologize to her fans, responded to her post with the following statement via "Access Hollywood":

"We do not feel this is an adequate response or apology to our statement, and we are disappointed that she does not understand that what she perceived as a 'goofy face' has never been used as a term of endearment for Asian Pacific Americans. It is not a gesture someone who is looked up

GQ sat down with Chris to talk about his breakout role, being in the public eye, and, of course, Lindsay Lohan:

GQ: You weren't much of a Trekkie, we hear.

CP: I was a "Star Wars" kid. The kitsch factor in the original "Star Trek" series is high, but the show manages to take on these huge questions about race, sex, and war. I have a great appreciation for what Mr. Shatner did with the part. There's a gravity to it, but he's having fun.
